Lorreto Seating Capacity

I here there was a memo from the TSSAA to officals to check the seating capacity.

May have to move the torunament to Giles Co. You are going to have to play them at least two more times anyway. Thats too bad.

Maybe Loretto can get the new Multiplier Rule enforced for their seating capacity --- HA HA

Well, if something does come of this & they find there aren't enough seats

( which I think is very true) then instead of moving it to Giles would Loretto

consider moving it to Lawrence County High School. Or is that even an option ?

 

It's been done in other districts in similair situations, why not here ??

 

Loretto could easily host the first two nights in their own gym & then move the

semifinals & finals to Lawrenceburg. I know Loretto has great tradition and will

be wonderful hosts, but when your gymnasium & all the other accomidations

don't measure up, then you need to do what's right for the entire district and

their fans.

 

There's too much competition for the fans sports dollars as it is. Don't turn them

off by holding a tournament in a place that can't hold a district finals crowd.

 

I just hope they don't split up the finals night by having girls on one night &

boys on the other. That's cheating the fans and is an admission that the powers

that be messed up in awarding the site.

Tigerman - That sounds like a reasonable suggestion. I'm sure LCHS would be willing to let Loretto use their facility to host a tournament. If I am not mistaken, this was done a number of years ago.

 

I'm sure that when 3BALLA peels himself off the ceiling, he will have a few choice words on this subject.

I heard from Page Coach Darrell Barnwell that there will be a coaches' meeting tomorrow. Whether they will discuss the issue of Loretto's seating capacity, I forgot to ask - sorry. My guess is that it may come up, but I feel it has already been discussed since Loretto was chosen as the district tournament site before the season began. If anyone wants to challenge it, it may be too late now.

 

tigerman - bad news - I heard that the Girls Consolation & Finals will be Thursday and the Boys Consolation & Finals will be Friday.

I was told last night that the seating capacity had been checked and the gym was good to go. It's my understanding that four games will be played Monday night with two games being played Tuesday-Friday. Girls games only on Tuesday, Thursday with the guys playing Wednesday, Friday. Best of luck to all the teams.

I believe you are correct, tiredbbmom. I heard that the games Monday will start at 4:30 and the Tues thru Fri games start at 6:30. I'll ask around tonight at the Giles Co./Marshall Co. game and see what the coaches' meeting today had to say about which seeds play when. The seeds will still be mostly undecided until all the games have been played, however. Looking forward to coming to "The Barn" for the district tournament.
