USAW Freestyle/Greco Clinic

Per www.tennwrestling.com - There will be a Freestyle & Greco Clinic @ Brentwood High School 0n Saturday, February 28th. This will be for wrestlers, coaches & officials.

 

Coach Blair - What time do you plan on this starting?

Clinic will start at 10:00 and run until around 1:00. We'll be there to sell cards to those who don't have them at 9:00.

This is intended to be a basic introduction to Freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling technique and scoring. Aside from the cost of the USA card, there is no fee. We just want to educate as many as we can. We'll also work with some of the older wrestlers on officiating Freestyle and Greco matches. Tim Deaton of Ravenwood, Jeremy Welder of Franklin (I think), Steve Shone of Father Ryan (I think), and I will be the clinicians.

If you've never done Freestyle and Greco and want to learn, or have and just want to get on the mats and help out, come on by.

That is a great line up of clinicians! We'll see you bright and early on Saturday! Good luck to all TN USAW Wrestlers as your season of freestyle & greco is kicking off to a great start. How many will we be taking to Fargo? Predictions please!

Unfortunately I will be unable to attend to do an officiating clinic. I have been asked to assist in South Carolina with their state championship event. Coach blair will be going over the basics of officiating. I intend to do a more detailed clinic in the near future in Nashville and another one in Memphis for anyone interested.

I am sure that you will find the interest here in Memphis to warrant a technique clinic. I was also wondering if there are any plans on havng a coaching certification clinic anywhere in the area anytime soon?
