It's really sad when you see a classy team like Grace get associated with such a classless group of fans. Grace had a history of being crass towards Temple. Last year the entire Grace student section had to be moved from behind Temple's bench for cussing at their players, even going as far as ridiculing them for some of their moral standards. Even seeing those things, it was still shocking to see a school storm a basketball court for winning district. I can maybe see that for winning sub-state or even region, but district? The fans tainted a good victory over Temple into a punk display. In Region, STAY OFF THE COURT.

Very true...It's one thing to win Region or Sub-state but districts.?.?.?.?

Winning a championship calls for a celebration. Do fans that upset a nationally ranked college opponent storm the court? YES. Grace's win over Temple was big for them so they should be allowed to celebrate. Now for the actions behind the bench that is uncalled for. But don't down a team because they rush the court after a big win. If you went by that then teams like Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Stanford, and Texas would all have bad fans because they rush the court after big wins.

I agree with the last post. Temple has had a great reputation over the past couple years and for the fans to storm the court is absolutely fine. Grace and Temple are great rivalry's as with almost any other team that is in the same district and region. I beleive that if the fans get involved in a game and are that dedicated to their team then it's absolutely fine. But profanity has no place in basketball. Let me be the first to tell you. Watch the language during the game and continue the great work.

Look,

I don't like Temple that is obvious from my posts, I am not fan at all. However, after walking in late, and catching the end of the game, and then watching the way grace acted, i have to say, grace is a bunch of losers. I am glad they won, but even I, fatchance, thought to myself, have a little class. whoever said they should be "allowed to celebrate" of course they should, that is a stupid comment, but first shake hands with the team you just beat, and celebrate after that. the poor Temple players, stood there waiting to shake hands, and as much as I hate to admit it, showed more class in losing than Grace showed in winning. you gotta lose with class and you gotta win with class, ohterwise your part of the problem in this big ole world.

Finally, i agree with fatchance. They had a reason to celebrate but some people took it too far. A fan stormed the court dove for the center court T and started stomping and hitting it. Then later on a group of students started to rip up Temple posters. And the worst was when the players too busy celebrating to shake hands.

Don't ruin a great victory acting that immature!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
