Springfield, Mo. Glendale High Head Basketball Coach Mr. Steve Hesser,46,

was named today as the new Men's Basketball Coach at NCAA Div. II Drury

University in Springfield, Mo.

 

Coach Hesser had a 97-39 record over five seasons as Glendale's third

head boys basketball coach. Hesser won a Class 5 - District 11 title last

season, an Ozark Conf. Title in 2001, and had three 20-win seasons

in his five years at Glendale.

 

Glendale is set in southeast side of Springfield, Missouri's third largest

city with a metro population of over 380,000. The Falcons have the richest

tradition out of Springfield's five public high schools. Winning 752 games... we enjoy

having winning seasons in 39 out of our 41 total prep campaigns, Glendale has the best

winning percentage(70%) in Springfield and have had sixteen 20-win seasons. We've won

more Ozark Conference titles than any other member of the league at fourteen, the

only team from Southwest Missouri to win Springfield's well-known prep tournament

the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions in 1994, and feature a number of Division 1

players such as Colorado's Kenny Price, Harvard's Tyler Rullman, and Univ. of Washington's

Michael McClain.

I'm kinda surprised Coach Tippett at WSHS didn't get it. I'm not going to belittle the new coach, but Tippett's resume is second to none. His teams have been nationally ranked the last 4 years or so...He has had several players play D1 including Earnest Shelton (Alabama), Robert O' Kelley (Wake), and Dane Bradshaw (UT). He has been one of the best coaches in the city for decades...

 

Your coach must be great if they took him over coach Tippett.

 

 

Tippett has also won the last few AAA state titles in TN (The largest classification in the state).
