Summertown hosts FRA in Sub-State action on Monday, March 8th @ 7:00 PM.

 

As all opponents will tell you, its hard to win in "The Pit".

Does the PIT meet the requirements for seating. I was under the impression that there is a minimum capacity required by TSSAA for Substate games.

The game will either be at Mt. Pleasant or Lawrence County. Summertown's gym is not big enough.

blik-I understand that Summertown's gym is big enough to meet the guidelines. Do you know for sure that it is not?

I have heard from numerous reliable sources, including people close to Summertown officials, that it is not. I understand the minimum capacity is 1,200 and their gym only seats 1,000.

I don't particularly care where they play, but I am wondering where you get that info. I could be wrong, but everything i have heard says that Summertown can't host.

Class A 1,000 Class 2A 1,200 Class 3A 1,500 see you in Summertown.

Apparently, the Summertown people did not even know they would be able to play in their gym, so forgive my questioning.

FRA will put up a good fight as underdog and can win. Home floor will really help Summertown. The key to beating FRA is not trying to force up shots and get the score high when the game slows down. FRA doesn't stall but they do control tempo and do it well. If Summertown gets frustrated with low score and tries to force tempo too much, FRA will be very dangerous.

Looking at Summertown's results for the year, I see a lot of games with over 70 points scored. It is hard to beat FRA if your goal is to score over 70, rather than win.
