MAN! Walker Valley was tough! They played their game and kept LA off balance most of the game.

 

I thought LA's crowd really helped turn momentum in LA's favor after one of those steals with about 2 minutes left in the game.

 

With under 2 minutes and the crowd into it:

 

Thurman hit a big three from the corner...Baltimore, Thompson, Beechboard, Handy, and Thurman all turned up their defensive intensity about 4 notches...Numerous steals...Offensive rebounds....Beechboard hit a three from the top of the key that tied it at 42 with about 50 seconds left...LA stole the ball....Held it...Jump ball with 4.7 seconds....LA inbounds to Baltimore at the top of the key...passed to Handy on the wing....penetrated and shot as the horn sounded....Crowd ERUPTED!!!! LA 44 WV 42.

 

...or something like that...I wasn't really paying close attention...

 

Hate to see a classy team like Walker Valley lose a game like that though. We felt for you. WV will be tough again next year.

Amen....this maysound strange but i would have rather seenWalker Valley play JC and us play mcminn and Walker Valley go to state because they are such classey people.....from ther fans to their players....good luck in the future WV...you deserve it..... I agree about #22 Butler being Miss Basketball some day. The ability is definitely there. Walker Valley was a class act with an excitable coach. Hope everyone made it home safely and good luck in the future.

Livingston you all are a class act also. We had a great time last nignt, would have been better if the game ended about two minutes earlier. Last year we

lost to the State champs so we are looking forward to seeing you go against

McMinn Central in the finals. Good luck to the final eight teams. Hope all come through without any injuries. Walker Valley Girls next year is your year to win it all.

LA, you were great host. Butler is an outstanding player and kid, (and no I am not her parent). She is an achiever in all areas, GREAT Student. Many, many things could be said of #22.... Great game to both teams LA and Walker Valley. They was some fouls that went unnoticed but it was a great game on both teams behalf. You do have to say that both teams and fans got their money worth last night(3-6-04).

 

Lossing just one senior Walker Valley will be strong next year and the year after that to as long as they stay healthy. Hope to see #22 Alyson Butler name up for Miss Basketball the next two season. As everybody has said she is a very deserving player for it.

 

If it was not for the home crowd getting behind LA Walker Valley would have been going to the state instead of Livingston. The reason is Alyson Butler would have taken care of Livingston. She lead all scorers. Good luck Walker Valley next year.
