Boyd-Buchanan beats McMinn Co. 2-0

Boyd beat McMinn County 2-0 on Tuesday at Boyd. Evidently Sarah Warren had had a no hitter till the 6th inning...she struck out 12 and only walked 1. Good way to start off the season Lady Bucs!!!

Hey it was a very good game if McMinn doesn't make 2 errors they may still be playing. Brittany Fox McMinn's pitcher walked 1 and also struck out 12. The lady Bucs only had 2 hits. Fox is a sophmore and is a great pitcher

Errors are always part of it. The team with the most errors looses nearly every time. Having a couple of errors in any game means you all need to continue to work on D.

 

However, it sounds like the Lady Cheokees hung with a good team. Only giving up 2 runs and a good performance by your pitcher... sounds like something to build on.

thanks deadeye. The girls are really playing well. Our hitting hasn't been the best but our bunting is what has kept us in games. Brittany Fox is pitching great. If she can carry us on her shoulders and our hitters start hitting we can be a very good team. I think that we might sneak up on some teams in the district this year. Thanks for the compliment though.

This was a good pitching dual. Sarah and Carrie both pitched extremely well. Correction, Boyd did have 7 hits, not 2. Carrie did a good job of keeping a good line up of hitters at bay. The key error was a overthrow to second on a steal in the 5th. The centerfielder overplayed the ball and let the runner score from second. Great game from McMinn, BBS played well.

The paper got the pitchers name wrong it was Brittainy Fox not Carrie Smith. Carrie is number 1 not the position 1.
