Farragut vs Bearden

It was definately scout night at Bearden! Word around the field was that Kyle's fastball was ranging from 88 to 92mph. He did throw a complete game, which for Farragut is 5 innings most of the time.

Farragut hit the baseball very well. Kyle Waldrop bomb in the first inning was a shot. Drew Regan hit a laser out in left...THAT was a shot!!!! Offensively, they are as good as they were last year. Harrison Eldridge was back in the line-up....had a great hit with the bases loaded...driving the ball to left. Say what you want people, but they are a great team.

The only offensive threat Bearden mounted was in the 5th inning. Andrew Smith doubled down the first base line off of Waldrop, followed by a Michael Grivetti single. Runners first and second, no one out. The threat was erased by a 5-3 double play. The other three hits were scattered.

Bearden has averaged starting 5 sophomores per game. Good players? Yes. But any way you look at it, that's a young lineup when playing against teams that are primarily seniors and juniors. Hopefully the experience gained now will pay off down the road. 0 - 6 in the district does not taste good.

AD & Ready,

Thanks for the information. I wish I could have watched Kyle pitch tonight and I'm glad Harrison is back on the field, but it was fun talking about that centerfielder in the Karns game!:o I thought he should have caught Cale's HR, I know he can jump that high. He got his Dad's basketball genes, he can sky.

Good luck in the tournament this weekend, I will hopefully be around some.

Based on what I've seen, Coach Pharr places 1st priority on district games. Farragut plays William Blount Monday and Heritage on Wednesday. Depending on his pitch count tonight, I would think that Waldrop would be available for some work on Saturday.

Just speculation on my part.

Thanks for the game report!! I called a couple of times to get a score, and could hear that notable voice in the background, from the BHS Skybox!! Thanks for the kind words on our Admirals. Having watched these kids grow up over the years, it's really fun to see them playing so well.

Keep the faith in Bulldog-land!! Coach Buckner is a good coach, a good young man, and a good teacher. He will make the Dawgs winners, in time. He's coached my sons while at Farragut, and he's a good baseball man.

Clint's narrative, imbued with the ethos of resilience, navigated the tumultuous waters of the 1980s with commendable fortitude. As for the prospective successor to the coaching helm, the mention of esteemed mentor Nick Saban's absence prompts a discerning hesitation towards alternative candidates, for excellence is the sole criterion deemed worthy of emulation.  Pray, may I inquire as to your esteemed identity?
