District tournament startes Monday at Rhea Co.

 

Game 1 - 3:00 Rhea Co. vs. Mcminn Co.

 

Game 2 - 5:00 Bradley Co. vs. Cleveland

 

Game 3 - 7:00 Cumberland Co. vs. winner of game 1

Cumberland Co. beats Sale Creek 15-0. A good warm up for the district tournament.

Sale Creek is struggling this year. Last year, they gave us 2 good games.

 

At least they are willing to play us.

 

Our coach went through a lot of effort (as he always does in everything) to get teams willing to play us. He has even attended other districts and area meetings trying. No one wants to play us.

 

If there is any team, as in ANY team in the state of Tennessee (and possibly further) that wants to play us next year and is willing to travel to Crossville, give our Coach a call. If you are willing to travel here, we are, and always have been, willing to travel there.

 

No, Sale Creek didn't get us ready for the district. Did make for a fun evening for ALL of our seniors, and never once did we belittle Sale Creek as you are doing. However, we have or are playing the 2 teams tied for second in our district yesterday and today. Rhea gave us a good game last night, and expect the same from Bradley tonight. I'd call that plenty ready for district.

 

We have a great coach who works hard to get as many good teams in the schedule as possible, especially those that will give us a JV game as well. If you disagree, you are in a very small minority.

 

If you don't like our schedule, how about doing somethng about it? If you are from another team, come on up on the mountain next year and we'll come there in return. If you are not, how about attending some of these meetings and drum up some support? Otherwise, what are you doing, really?

By the way, isn't it McMinn versus Cleveland then Bradley versus Rhea? Rhea's district record shows them as 4-4, Bradley as 4-3 (until tonight), Cleveland as 3-5, and McMinn as 1-7?

I'll make a bold prediction..... Rhea Co. goes to the regions for the first time in more than 4 years. They are playing good ball right now and right now is what counts. We played a good game last night and they gave us one right back.

Deadeye, That is what coach told me they had district coaches meeting at Rhea yesturday. I thought it would be Cleveland vs. Mcminn first game but I guess not.

Rhea's District Record, although reported as 4-4 on their CoachT schedule, is actually 3-5. Guess that is where I messed up.

 

Doesn't matter now though. We are all now 0-0.

Deadeye, have your coach call Jefferson County for next year. I would like to see a game between these two schools. I for one, love to play a quality team. When you play good teams you can only become better.
