CoachB22
Great game between HFA and GB. Both teams played very well. GB is not afraid to swing the bat and plays a solid short game. Horrible work by the umps. GB pitcher must have wasted a half dozen pitches when PU would grant time in the middle of her wind-up. Both blew the call on an HFA double down the line that would have put HFA ahead. GB infielder practically tackled HFA runner between 2nd and 3rd, knocking her flat, but only awarded runner 3rd. Would have been HFA 4-3 if not for that call. PU (who should have the call) must have been dreaming about next "time" call. Both Umps seemed to be having a good time though, so I guess thats what it is really all about....right?? BTW, whats up with the outfield fencing???? Why the large gaps on either foul line? rocole98
does anyone know the results of the late games last night? (mlk v. station camp and portland v. springfield)
hsfball
The Lady Mustangs played a great game all around verse Macon Co winning 5-0 Rhodes finished with 17 K's and offensive production was excellent. They had base runners every inning coupled with great hits by everyone and a 3-run homer by Webber. If they continue to play like this, a district championship is in line for them. Hopefully offensive production will stay high as they face Greenbrier tonight. Did anyone else think that the fences on at least Field 2 seemed a little short in center? Several times balls were hit to the fenc for only a single in left-center.
ajc
Station Camp 15 Martin Luther King 0 Portland beat Springfield by one run. In the Greenbrier game, the runner was only awarded third because a ground rule double is a dead ball and the "tackling" didn't result in the extra base. hsfball
The Lady Mustangs win easily over Greenbrier as Webber homers for the second consecutive game. The seniors are stepping up big in the tourney. All four are hitting well especially tonight with Webber and Watson (2 RBI, single). I believe Megan finished with 13 K's. The game went on forever. It seemed as if every call had to be argued especially bunt/slap. The bunt/slap-foul-on-two-strikes contraversy always comes up in the Lipscomb Greenbrier games. Congrats to the Lady Mustangs on advancing to region, and good luck tomorrow in the district championship!!!
