Hey...(this is Bearettefan)the games today were at Cleveland High School instead of Cleveland State...the 9:00am game tomorrow is at Lee University (in Cleveland). You take exit 25 off of 75 (south from Knoxville). When you get off of the Exit 25 you turn Rt. (you are on 25th Street) you turn rt. at the 4th red light and you are on Ocoee. Stay on Ocoee until you see Lee Univ. on the left. Turn left and the gym is on the next street parallel to Ocoee(Church St). There is a flame in front of the gym. Hope these directions get to you in time Pitino. We aren't sure but we think the 11:00am game is at Lee too.

They did "lose" a close game to Tennessee Top Guns 16U, the top 16 U team in East Tennessee. In the "playday" game with the clock running, both the Elite and Top Guns

subbed extensively trying different combinations and lineups. It was a good scrimmage with both teams expected to do very well this year. It would be great to see them play a " regular game" with AAU officials and keeping the clock. Would improve both teams. Top Guns

have added several players that make them stronger than the team that advanced to the state tournament last year. Both the Top Guns and Elite had impressive wins over other 16U and 17U teams in the playday.

Very well said Converse! The 15-under Elite lost by 3 (I think) to Top Guns 16-under. Under a real game setting, it might have gone the other way. Top Gun has a good team and so does the Elite so it would be nice to see them play each other again. This was the first play day the Elite has played together so it will take time for them to get used to each other. 5 of the Elite played together last year so they should be a fun team to watch.

Excuses,Excuses,Excuses. Last year this team did not lose in its first tourney. Sounds like to me it is coaching cause the players are their.

The Elite looked good at times and bad at times, just as the 16's did. These kids are learning an entirely new system. The keyword here being "system". The object is to get these girls playing together as a unit when it counts. Best of luck to both the Elite teams and we'll see you in Raleigh this weekend.

Let's make a slight correction, Phislammajamma :

1) This was a "playday", not a tournament. What's the big deal about losing in a "playday", especially when you're "playing up" against older teams to get better.

2) If you're referring to the Tennessee Players ( which this is not) not losing in their first tournament. Well,

actually they lost twice in their first tournament last year --- to the Georgia Hotshots team.

3) You get better playing good teams, win or lose. That's why they'll be playing in the older age group when they play in the Adidas Deep South Tournament this week.
