Has Betsy found a coach yet. I heard spring drills are going on, how is that going. Does anyone have info about the scrimmage with sullivan north.

i hear former coaching great dave rider is coming back, and he's bringing jim hastings with him from jefferson county. i also hear the possibility of another jefferson county coach leaving with hastings.

From what I have heard from betsy, is spring practice has went well alot of good young kids mixed with a few good returners. Smith shined at qb in the inter squad. the job may be coming to him. Some of the young line looked good from what I have heard. I do not think the coaching dilema has effected the kids to much. I do think it has effected alot of the cyclone faithful, and some of the betsy coaches. A coach will be named soon probably before school is out, I would say that is an objective of Mr. Alexander and the A.D. It is graduation season and that is probably a more pressing issue right now.

I believe after Sat. the COACHING dilema will probably become top priority.

 

The word is though that Preston Smith looked unreal at Q.B. He is only a to be SOPH.

 

Remember good players can make coaches look real good and bad players can make good coaches look real bad.

 

Evidently betsy has some great young talent, so get a guy who will cultivate that talent.

and maybe they can have a few years like 99 and 00.

What's the latest from Elizabethton? Has there been any progress made to find a new coach?

This is a very interesting topic indeed. Has anyone from the BOE suggested a deadline for when this position should be filled? Everyday that it is not filled only hurts the program.

i hear that rider has fooled around long enough playing the "i'll take it, i dont want it" game and is being passed up for eddie plessy (i believe is the name i recall), former offensive coordinator or something of the sort.

I would hope that whomever Elizabethton hires, he will be willing to make the changes needed to right the program. To succeed there will have to be some changes made or it will the the same ole, same ole.

What changes need to be made. Other changes in coaches, styles of coaching. What will a new coach need to do to bring the what ever back that is missing.
