AAU 17U State Tournament

I was wondering if anyone has any information on the tournament. If possible i would like to see the schedule and who won. Someone tell us who's hoopin'.

Ballerz defeated the Zags who didn't have their big men by about 13.

 

Ballerz second team lost to the tournament favorite YOMCA 17's by about 6. The Y didn't seem like they were playing very hard.

 

The predicted order of finish, in my opinion would be...

 

1-Y

2-Bulldogs

3-Ballerz

 

all three of those teams already have bids to play in the nationals, meaning the 4-6th place teams have a realistic shot at going to the nationals as well.

How are the other teams in the tournament doing and what players are playing well? Also who won the championship?

Big Y beat the Bulldogs by 18. Mid-State finshed 3rd.

I can't remember the last time a Memphis team didn't win the 17-under state.

Until they move the 17:u State tourney away from Memphis, there won't be a non-Memphis team to win it for a while (though the Ballerz were up 12 at the end of the 3rd quarter in last year's state finals only to have a last-second three rim out)...

I really believe the cream rose to the top....A very good point though Gomab, I thought your team played very well...well controlled, took good shots, I was very impressed. Good luck at nationals.

You could move the tournament to Siberia, the best players are still from Memphis. Surely your not suggesting that your last years team was as good as the national champions.

The player that made the difference in the Y's championship run was not even from Memphis, nor had ever played with the Y before or since (Brewer). So, yes, I am suggesting that my team last year was as good as the Y team minus their rent-a-Traveler, which is the team we outplayed at state...

 

But yes, Ego, the best players in the state, overall, are from West Tn and Memphis...
