Top 3 TN Teams playing well in 17u Nationals

Recommended Posts

The Memphis Y will play for a second straight AAU National Championship today vs. Top 3 team and 15u Champion Georgia Stars. This should be a very good game as both teams feature top players nationally. Good luck to the Y....The 2nd seed Memphis Bulldogs will look to take 8th place home tomm. 3rd seed Midstate Ballerz Elite will play for 6th place tomm for a 5th straight Top 15 finish. Good luck to all the TN Teams.

The YOMCA 17-and-under squad might be one of the most talented AAU teams ever assembled. When you look at the squad for what they are worth they are loaded. J.P. Prince 6'6 is now proving he is indeed one of the nation's point guards and he might be the best passer in the nation. 6'8 Pierre Niles is a man child and is the one of the most imposing physical force in the nation. 6'9 Thaddeous Young not only is a great student but an exceptional athlete who could have a long pro career ahead of him. 6'8 wing forward Shawne Williams is back to his old form running, jumping, dunking, and shooting the cover off of the basketball. The talent in the city of Memphis is just unbelievable. The University of Memphis is rumored to have a strong hold on each of these players I've listed. Memphis basketball is unrivaled in the state.

Memphis Y lost a heartbreaker by 3 today in the 17u AAU Championship to the Louis Williams led Georgia Stars.

Midstate Ballerz Elite finishes 6th and the Memphis Bulldogs finished 12th...Those were three of the nations best assemble teams from when they were 14 and 15 years old. Good in the future to all three clubs.

    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
    • Heard Seq has gotten a lot stronger this off season. Can’t wait to see how the boys do this year
