coachlj65
I know it is very, very early in the season, but as for region 4-AAA, if you were at the pre-season meet today or have seen the results, Lebanon's Clay Hannah and Tullahoma's Megan Williams asserted themselves as the ones to beat this season. Teamwise, a great battle in the boys between Siegel and Tullahoma and in the girls, Siegel followed by Cookeville. Looks to be a strong and interesting season both in the team and individual races this fall.
steepler113
Berry just ran faster than everyone in the region but Clay Hannah yesterday. Edited September 3, 2004 by steepler113
coachlj65
and your point steepler? no one has said that berry wouldn't be up there. he was expected to be. but hannah was well over 40 seconds ahead of him and everyone else in the region. berry might have been the 2nd region finisher, but there was approx 4 or 5 others within 15 seconds i believe. to early to tell, but very close times. coachlj65
unfortunately, i wasn't able to get times from each race and they haven't been posted yet either, but from what i could tell, the top 3 boys from the region were hannah, berry and fischer. but welsh and a teammate as well as the siegel boys were so close, it's hard to call anything now except hannah being the favorite. for the girls, as close as I could tell, it was williams (tullahoma) ross (columbia) and moran (lincoln county) but again, so many so close from siegel, cookeville as well as others. just way to early to tell who will peak to soon, or who will blossom at the end of the season when it really matters. as for yesterday, it's hard to argue the fact that who ever was there, either saw or ran in some excellent races. the competition was incredible in each race and from every classification.
