Playing David Brainerd is like playing a peewee team.

Give 'em some credit sub50.....it's their first year playing. Grace had the better and bigger athletes, but it was good to see these two schools out there playing football. Everyone has to start somewhere, and this year it's time for these two schools. They may not be that good, and they may be very inexperienced, but both of these teams showed a lot of heart out there today. David Brainerd's season will probably go much like that the rest of the year, but they ARE out there putting out for their program!

 

It's hard to be competitive when there's 14 guys on your roster....and as they continue to grow, they'll draw more athletes in.

I agree, give them credit for being willing to play! The first couple of years are the hardest!

 

Station Camp & Creekwood are both in their second year of varsity play. It takes time to build a great team.

 

Hats off to ALL players & coaches of every new school for stepping up and being willing to get a tradition started!

Will temple and grace play in the same region boyd next year, or ever?

 

I'm glad both of these teams have started football programs. I played 4 years of basketball for Boyd and Grace and Temple were some of the best and most heated games. It will be tough the first couple of years but things should pick up quickly. Who knew about Boyd-Buchanan before 1996 when they got Robert Akins and went 11-1??? Who knows what Grace and Temple will do with time. Good luck to both programs

Grace and Temple will not be with Boyd. Boyd is moving up to at least 2a while Grace and Temple will be 1a.

David Brainerd was going to start last year and had all of the region teams scheduled. It seems like it caused a big stink when they decided not to play the region schedule. Either way, hats off to the new schools. Good luck to the kids starting it off for them.

Chattanooga, TN...East Brainerd to be exact...check TSSAA for exact enrollment...actually CoachT has it on his team pages! Just a little more than a couple hundred I think.
