Dobyns-Bennett is 5-0

Campbell County is 4-1

Karns is 3-2

Sevier County is 2-3

Jefferon County is 2-3

Science Hill is 2-3

South Doyle is 1-4

Bearden is 1-4

How do You People think this region will shape up for the last two weeks of the regular season? It's a tricky scenerio. If you feel like explaining then go ahead. It would take forever for me to explain it but its going to be decided either this Thursday or it's gonna come down to the final week.

The Top 4 would have been set if Jefferson Co. had beat Sevier Co. as expected. That would have secured bids for KDB, CC, JC & Karns. However, due to the upset the Smokey Bears are still alive, and with wins over Bearden & South Doyle, they could knock Jefferson Co. out. BUT if the Cougars lose BOTH of their last 2 games, and Jeff Co & Sevier Co win out, the whole mess goes to a complex tie-breaker system. Simply put, the Cougars MUST win one of their final two games to be secure or hope that Jeff Co or SC slip against Bearden or a fired up South-Doyle team. Of course an upset of the Tribe this Friday and the Cougars would be poised to be the #1 seed!

Very good synopsis! This playoff picture is getting blurry. These last 2 (and 1 for some) are really important. Look for the CC vs. Karns game to be the big deciding factor in playoff seeding!

That very well might happen. But I think that we (Campbell County) can beat DB tonight. It will be a tough game but it can be done.

hey guys, new poster here. i was just wondering if any of you guys have checked out the tssaa's web site that explains the tiebreaking procedure. if campbell co loses to karns, since their loss to DB tonight is a foregone conclusion, then they miss the playoffs. this of course is providing that everyone else wins. how funny would that be. haha, campbell co missing would be priceless. go DB, put that ONE HEARTBEAT crap of the cougars into cardiac arrest.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
