Word is that St. Benedict didn't play four of their starters on Saturday, including returning District MVP Reggie Peyton.  I would have loved to see them at their best versus JCS.  Both teams should be very successful this season.  Madison still has a long ways to go, I wouldn't expect them nor Catholic to be competitive against those teams.

JCS didnt' play 3 of their starters either. Madison is underrated i think. I don't mean they are going to win district but they might surprise a couple of people this year if they can put it all together.

Since you were there on Saturday to see those game, what information do you have on the new acquisition at post for JCS. I know that Irvin transferred off somewhere, but I have heard that the Eagles found another big man that showed up this year. Is this true? If so, how good is the guy?

Im close to a lot of JCS players and former players....the rumor is that it is Jeffery Allen a kid who transfered from USJ to Liberty, but sat out last year at Liberty because he had to, and now has transfered to JCS

Josh Irvin transferred to Madison, when did this happen. I didn't even know he was there.

Yes he did...Not because he wanted to, but because he had to. He was working a job trying to pay to go to school at JCS, and play basketball....but it took its toll on him and he had to transfer....the last I heard he did not get his elligibility back

Well if Josh Irvin does dress out for Madison, I may have to knock them up a couple of spots on my rankings, maybe ahead of USJ and Trinity . I am starting to think now I may have overrated TCA anyway and Madison practically brings back everyone off of last years team.

Yeah, I knew the story on why Irvin left JCS, but I had no clue that he went to Madison. Isn't he just a junior this year though? If so, Madison could be tough next year with a whole bunch of seniors including Irvin.

Yes he is a junior and I found out today that he did get his eligibility back and is going to play for the mustangs.....they will for sure finish ahead of USJ and Trinity...but Madison lost there best player from last year Andrew Hicks....that is a big hole to fill because he could play every postition and was there go to guy....but I know Josh pretty well and the skills he learned from Coach Villinger he will take to Madison and put them to use...he will do well there and good luck to him

Updated rankings as of news of Josh Irvin transfer:

 

1. JCS- Reportedly replaced Irvin with someone even better and therefore should be OK.

 

2. Middleton- Uneffected by transfer. They are still much better than Madison.

 

3. Adamsville- Uneffected by transfer. Although they could struggle defending Irvin.

 

4. Fayette Academy- Uneffected by transfer. Their big men are too good to let it effect them.

 

5. Madison Academic- Rose from 7th to 5th by picking up one of the best players in the District.

 

6. USJ- Remained 6th just because I can't bring myself to honestly believe that the Bruins could finish next to last in anything.

 

7. Trinity- Fell from 5th to 7th because they are no longer as good as Madison and I can't imagine USJ 7th.

 

8. Scotts Hill- Uneffected by transfer.

I wouldnt say that Jefferey Allan is better than Irvin....but hes pretty good...but they shouldnt drop

As long as the guy can play defense and rebound, he will be all the JCS needs. He will have help on defense too because Josh Jenkins is such a good post defender. All he needs to do is get every rebound and pass it up the floor to North so he can score.
