I think central has the team to pull off the state title this year. Erik Leonard should lead the cougars from the post along side jeff beverly. Erik can get into a state of play that we refer to as "the meanstreak" where no one can stop him. The other starters are Phillip Weatherford 3pt specialist, David Sanchez the and1 streetballer great dribbler and passer and now shooter. Jonathan Toler perhaps the teams best defender along w/Beverly should both have good seasons. Erik Leonard has hopes of going to D-1. He should throw alex carroll around like a rag doll and he will show him who his daddy is. The cougars bench is great also w/ the long arms of Austin Hubbard a great jumper and shot blocker. The cougars should roll all over the rest of the Watuaga Conference. keep your eyes open for the mighty cougars  Gabe Buchanan and Josh Housewright will also be big assets to the cougars they offer speed and size off the bench. The whole team is good so watch out this year.

Yeah right just like they was state bound in football. You cougars are crazy!

I dont understand how you think you have a state title team when you dont have any returning starters. Beverly and Leonard are the only ones with varisty experience Sanchez has never even played a varsity minute.

Before everyone gets bent out of shape, I can assure you that the start of this post did not come from anyone on the Sullivan Central basketball team. No one, from Central or anywhere for that matter, is going to throw Alex Carroll around like a rag doll. Happy Valley is the team to beat in the Watuaga, hands down. Central will be lucky to finish in the top three, and I am a Cougar fan. The Cougars have the utmost respect for every team that is on their schedule. They are not talented enough to take anyone lightly and they know it.

I believe that Sullivan Central will be a good team this year, even with the loss of the five starters from last season, and this is based on Central's freshman team in 2001-2002, and the record was 20-3. I know that Happy Valley and Volunteer will give them a good run for their money, but I can see them finishing in the top two.

Central doesnt have a team to even win the conference, so how could they even come close to winning state. Everyone on their team is a joke. Just like the cougar football fans, they also thought they were good, but they Vikings along with everyone else showed them up. WHAT A JOKE OF A TEAM !!!! by the end of the season people will be saying BEVERLY who?

No Central probably will not win the state...The same goes for any other team in Northeast TN this year. But they do have a good chance of winning the conference this year. If Volunteer had Chucky then they would be the favorite hands down. but he is gone and without him they will be in BIG trouble. Those other guys got there points because teams were triple teaming Chucky.

It will be a close race between Central and Happy Valley. People are just now going to get to see a couple of juniors Central has that didn't get a lot of playing time on the Varsity last year. Philip Weatherford only saw limited minutes last year because of all the seniors Central had last year. Gabe Buchanan also will be a good player for them this year from the JV. Watch out for them this year.
