Wilson Central vs Mt. Juliet

just dont underestimate this central game....Gassie is always up for MJ and always puts up huge numbers....i expect a great game and yes i would give paige anything but lay ups....Hopefully Williams will be back she is out of the boot but you never want to rush a player back....should be a great atmosphere....the gym will be hot since that gym is so small with so many people...so we will just have to see what happens......rivalries are always make teams play 10 times better than they usually do so lets get it started i cant wait thumb

flem.... c'mon you are killin me. Were you there last night? It was like watching paint dry. Mt. Juliet has the mix. They may not make it but there are more chances than not we don't get out of the district. We'll be there tryin of course. Don't give the bear man something to shoot you down with later. We won't make it to the state. Ain't got the talent. Too young and Rick can't play. He can yell and scream all he wants but he can't get out there and do it. They're young and inexperienced. Mt. Juliet has the ingredients. they still have to do it. but they have what it takes. There are some others that could get it done also. just not us this year.

Well, you must have missed the game because the paint dried to a 19 point win against a team that almost everyone picked to beat or kill Shelbyville. The paint fumes must have blurred your vision. thumb

Thank you 2dahoop.  Your remarks show you have a grib on reality which is more than I can say for flemtone.  I have told him over and over I admire his passion with the Shelbyville Eaglettes.  I have told him that Insell is a LEGEND and the Shelbyville Girls basketball program is the premier basketball program in the state. 

 

HOWEVER for some reason he hates to see Mt. Juliet succed because of me.  He is always posting negative remarks towards myself and the Lady Bears.  He claims I have the brain of a child and that I know little if anything about girls basketball.  All this because Mt. Juliet has stole Shelbyville's thunder this year.  He continues to make predictions that Shelbyville will win the district and will play in the Region finals and make the State Tournament.  All I have told him is Shelbyville is having a down year and they lost too heavily to graduation to have be in the elite teams this year.  And Mt. Juliet is one of the elite teams this year.

 

Is is a crime to be proud and excited for what the Lady Bears have accomplished so far this season?  Won the Greene County Ladies Basketball Classic with 4 wins in 4 days by 27, 9, 24, and 15 points over some very strong competition. Undefeated (17-0) record.  Ranked almost a unaimius #1 in the AP Tennessee state girls basketball poll receiving 12 of 13 first place votes.  Ranked #6 in the latiest USA Today Girls National Rankings. 

 

Now I know this is nothing new for Shelbyville getting those accomplishments.  And I am well AWARE the ulimate goal is that GOLD BALL at Murphy Center on March 12. 

 

But gee why can't a person be excited and have pride with what your team has accomplished thus far and what the prospects look like for the remainder of the season.

 

Right now anything less than a State Championship at the end of the season would be a dissappointment and I am aware there are teams out there that can beat Mt. Juliet and hopefully the team will continue to improve and keep their focus for the ulimate goal.

And for your information ALL I have stated is Shelbyville is down this year. As I've said MANY times mostly just to REPEAT myself to you.... "Shelbyville lost 2 great players and replacing them is impossible and they were going to be in a rebuilding state" If this is being down on them its just a FACT that several Shelbyville fans have accepted. You on the other hand do not want to accept reality. You think Shelbyville is suppose to win ALL THE TIME.

 

I believe it you will check my post on this subject I said THERE are teams out there that can beat Mt. Juliet and that I hope the team continues to improve and keep their FOCUS. READ IT FOR YOURSELF.

Yes, the Lady Bears are ranked 6th in USA Today's Super 25, and they're ranked 3rd in the South Regional. Incidentally, Oakland is ranked 10th in the South Regional.

 

I can't wait for the MJ - WC matchup tonight. We'll see two great basketball programs playing their hearts out. The Lady Bears have an unblemished record to protect and the Lady Wildcats, wounded by recent losses, have something to prove. It's the battle for bragging rights in Wilson County. The atmosphere will be electric.

 

My prediction? MJ by 15+.

Hey, the good news is THE GAME IS TONIGHT! So all the hype can be addressed where it needs to be, on the court!

 

The bad news is, the game is tonight, so now for 2 weeks we are going to watch you guys throw down on the details of this game. And I bet someone doesn't like the way the game is officated, so they will accuse the refs of blowing the game, etc.

 

Having seen both of these teams play multiple games in Greeneville, unless Williams is the second coming of Tamika Catchings, I don't think this is close.
