Message to Coaches from Tom Marable, TWF Chairman

On February 26, 2005, the weekend directly after TSSAA state individual TWF will host a Freshman & Sophomore State Championship tournament at Father Ryan High School.

This will be a TWF/USA sanctioned event. There will be two separate divisions and you must participate in your grade division, no exceptions. We will use the finial official weight-in from the last day of the TSSAA State Individual Tournament for our weight class.

The entry fee will be $10.00 and you must have a current USA Card or our new $10.00 State League Card. If you do not have a current USAW card, these may be purchased online, through your local TWF club or by contacting Ellie Chason - chasoneg@comcast.net.  If you wish to purchase a 'league card' you should contact our Membership Director Ellie Chason. The $10.00 card can only be purchased through our State Membership Director and are only valid within the our state. In the event that you purchase a 'league' card and wish to compete outside of TN, you will need to contact Ellie Chason to upgrade your league card to the standard USAW card.

You must fax or e-mail your line up in no later than February 23, 2005.

Guys, we're expecting a really big turn out for this event! With that in mind I hope you will understand that when you send in your line-up your kids have to be on weight because there will be no bumping up. We've got one day to get this done. You may enter as many kids at as many weight class as you like, we will do our best to separate them. Please send in their records and any tournaments they've placed in or won.

Weight-ins will be at 7:00 AM and wrestling will start at 8:00. We will e-mail all the entry forms out with-in the next two weeks with any other info you may need.

Thanks for your support,

Tom Marable - Tennessee/USA Wrestling

If you work a table, we will feed you!

Thank you,

Volunteering for an event like this is a great way to pass the day when your kid is not wrestling.

Sheree, if someone was to volunteer ahead of time and get on your list, would they have to pay admission to get into the event?

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
