Volunteer wins again this time in a HUGE Watauga Confrence game over Johnson Co.

Defense looks real good right now I am proud of how our players have steped up and played with all of the losses this season.

 

HUGE game Monday @ Home VS Hampton everybody come back out like tonight and support the team again crowd was great tonight.

A win Monday night would assure Volunteer of the No. 4 seed in the tournament.

 

It appears that a couple of teams are going to get the short end of the stick in the tournament. We could have a three way tie for the championship, but only one will get the champions bye in the tournament. People say that the champion should be awarded for being the champion. They are - they get their trophy. If a number one seed cannot beat a number eight seed in the tournament, then I have to question how good they are. That is what sets basketball apart from the other sports. How fair is it going to be to the other two teams for the third to get byes all the way to the regional?

 

Last year the format used worked because we had co-champions. The year before the format used that year worked because Elizabethton was undefeated. This year the format is the same as it was two years ago. Problem? There are no undefeated teams. There are three teams with 11 wins. No team with 11 wins in our district should be penalized in the district tournament.

 

Just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. Everybody has one.

I was really impressed with Jacob's passing skills last night......everytime he made a pass it lead to a score. The youngsters are growing up. I think all but one starter for J.C. was a senior. Bodes well for the future......

Bodes transferred in from somewhere in Idaho. I heard he practiced his shooting touch by shooting potatoes at a #10 tin can at a 12 foot high goal. And to beat it all he's just a freshman......

Not to be outdone..........our AD is suiting for tomorrow nights game..........they have a dunk play played out for him................developing story.........Bodes is ineligible for the rest of the year.

Bodes failed lunch and P.E. again? I told him to take his courses seriously or he was history..............he just wouldn't listen...........Bodes bad for the future...........
