CROW-EATING TIME!

Recommended Posts

Around this same time 2 years ago, there were a lot of skeptics speaking about LeBron James and his ability to make the jump to the Pros from high school. Now that almost two years have been completed by the phenom, I just want to say to the nay-sayers back then that it is up to each person to decide what is best for them, along with some guidance from significant others such as parents, teachers, coaches, etc. I will always endorse getting your education for your mind. I just remember how many were saying they thought James would fall flat on his face and how he was making a BIG mistake. Also, a lot was said about his maturity and wondered if he would be a selfish player. I think he has been an excellent ROLE-MODEL for high school athletes, because he works hard and puts the team first. When asked about his being the youngest player to have a triple-double, James said that he "could care less about individual accomplishments, I only want the team to win."

My question to all...... How do you view TSSAA Basketball in recent years? Has the game seen a rise in dedication or have the athletes taken on other forms of committment (ie. XBOX, TV, and girlfriends)? Also please give the area you are talking about, because different areas produce different results. [ie. Unaka (Upper East TN) kids seem to be dedicated to basketball year-in-and-year-out].

TO ALL TENNESSEE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES!!!!! THE TEAM MUST COME FIRST IN WHAT YOU DO. THAT IS A CHAMPION'S MINDSET!!!

GOD BLESS!!!

...and the player who has had legal trouble and trouble with his teammates was Carmelo Anthony, who had been touted by somany people here as having *SO* much more experience and maturity.

A friend of mine who works for the Grizzlies radio network has said, on the air, that he thinks LeBron will be cleary THE best player in the NBA next year.

Anyway, to me the point in this is that some people can make the leap, and they should. LeBron, KG, Amare Stoudemire, Dwight Howard, and a few others had no business being on a college campus.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
