Goose, kingB, or anyone else who was in attendance at the 'Burg last night?

Must have been a classic "Dallas vs. Fred" battle and a huge win for the Lady Eagles at the Dog Pound no less!

kingB: Do the lady Dogs still have the number one seed in the district or is anyone else in contention for that top spot after last night's loss?

I'll give u the scoop r. We started out sluggish whether it was the from the sickeness' that have went around or what I'll never know. We couldnt hit the broad side of a barn for the most part. We were 9 of 23 from the line. Cant say anything but it's probably the worst game we've played all year. The officiating was a joke and yes it stunk on both ends. But i think the one thing that beats just about anything i've seen at a game in a while was a T thrown on Whitt for giving a girl a mean look who had just knocked her to the floor and of course it was a no call. There was not a word uttered no gestures no contact no anything to the girl or the ref. I watched OS play twice in a weeks time where the same player in the first game got up and yelled at the ref about the foul call and just kept on til one of her teammates put their hand over her mouth. Then in the next game that same player raised her fist to hit another player who she kept fouling out of bounds even after the whistle blew and when the other player told her to get off of her she balled up her fist to hit her. Neither of these resulted in a T so how in the world can a ref possibly justify a T for a glare at another player for an action that

should have had a whistle to start with. CRAZY

:P My point was not to whine about loosing when u shoot that pitifully you deserve to loose I made the comparisons because they were the most recent ones I could think of and the officials were very aware of both situations. Officials dont see every little dirty thing that goes on on the court but these were situations where they did. Just making a point. Yes u beat us twice for heavens sake why wouldn't u. Youre the #1 AA team in the state and were just a unranked single A team. Big accomplishment huh. I have much respect for your teams ability and success. One of your players is like my other daughter and I cheered for her during the game so give me a break this isn't about u. There was name calling and dirty play on both sides during our last meeting. I'd be glad to show you a relplay but I don't need one to see it went both ways and when they get crowded under the goal it's hard for anyone to see what goes on.

R One was the older guy with glasses and salt and pepper hair. The one that called

the T we cant remember every having younger dark hair and the other one lighter hair early 40's and only remember seeing him once or twice.

Hey sportsmom:

A couple of questions for ya.

1) Is Whit gonna play softball this year? Who's the new coach or coaches?

And I know the older guy with glasses you described but I won't say his name on here. Everyone seems to think he's needed to hang it up now for several years, but hey officiating is an extremely difficult thing to do. I've tried it and will gladly do without it!

2) What district games do the Lady Dawgs have remaining, if any?

It does seem that the officials in our association are pretty poor though, as a whole. It's strange, because football and baseball officials don't seem to get nearly as bad a rep as the hoops guys do! Guess the quicker pace is just a little tougher to deal with maybe.

Remaining District Games:

Wartburg has Rockwood Friday night at Rockwood.

Oneida has Harriman Thursday at Harriman.

Coalfield has Oakdale at home Thursday night, Rockwood at home Saturday night, and Harriman Tuesday night, Feb. 15th at Harriman.

Looks like Coalfield has the toughest road remaining, but it's going to be interesting to see how this current three way tie atop the district is settled over the next 6 days/nights.

Get 'em Lady Jackets! thumb

Coalfield took care of Oakdale last night, that's one more in the books.

hermom:

I thought the Coalfield ladies played one of their better games last night and really took it to the Lady Eagles. Coalfield's press proved to be nothing short of a nightmare for Oakdale!

Are you the mother of a Coalfield girls player? Give me a clue who you are or if you'd rather, you can send me a private message on here.

Thanks,

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
