I believe 6AA comes down to Hixson and Grundy County. Hixson will be very experienced this year, on some occasions starting 9 seniors, 2 early college signees. Hixson will need to find a pitcher or two to back up Smalley and Green. The strength of the team should be defense. They return 7 defensive starters.

Grundy lost a lot when they lost Toby Woodlee and Kyle Brewer. But don't sell them short at all. With Josh Sitz, Dustin Fults and their first baseman, Jeremy Melton, they will be a handful.

Just my thoughts!

haha funny...

grundy:

offensively: returns some hitters in sitz, fults, and melton.

defensively: average b/c they lost a solid catcher that was a threat, so look for teams to steal on grundy

pitching: possibly their weakest point with just sitz and fults, who aren't natural pitchers like former woodlee.

east ridge:

offensively: will be ok, with bats like kay and poole

defensively: not too sure, never been a overwhelmingly great defensive team

pitching: stewart will be tough, and poole and kay can throw as well.

hixson:

offensively: returns the area's leading home run leader, and will be solid throughout the lineup. will be tough to pitch around their lineup. though their hitters aren't huge, they get the job done and know how to manufacture runs.

defensive: as catsbackr mentioned, they return 7 starters, and defense has always been the focal point of hixson teams.

pitching: smalley is hands down the best in the district, but they will need to find some quality innings elsewhere.

key points:

--will be interesting to see how grundy fares w/o their ace woodlee, who typically pitched on few days rest.

--how will east ridge manage w/ different coach?

--didn't mention much about marion, b/c i'm not familiar with their returning players
