Ok everyone, this is a crazy region! I haven't posted much on the bball boards this year, but I have been following the results of the teams in this region. So as we go into the district tourney's what does everyone think?

From District 5

Bradley Central (7-1) - lost to Cleveland

Cleveland (6-2) - lost to Bradley, Cumberland Co

Cumberland Co (4-4) - lost to McMinn, Bradley x 2, Cleveland

McMinn County (3-5) - beat Cumberland, Rhea x 2

Rhea Co (1-7)

From District 6

Brainerd (8-0)

Ooltewah (5-3) - lost to Red Bank, Brainerd x 2

Red Bank (3-5) - beat Soddy, Ooltewah, Central

Soddy (2-6) - beat Red Bank, Central

Central (2-6) - beat Red Bank, Soddy

Other notes worth mentioning:

--Brainerd defeated Cleveland by 10

--Ooltewah lost to Brainerd 2 times by a combined margin of 5 points

Obviously the favorites are Bradley, Brainerd, and Cleveland.

This region is notorious for having several sleeper teams that can win on any given night. I think Ooltewah is definately that team this year. They've lost a lot of close games, and although they may not be the favorite, they could beat any of these teams on any night.

I'm going to go with the top 4 teams to be the last 4 teams remaining: Bradley, Brainerd, Cleveland, Ooltewah.

I really just want to see another Ooltewah/Cleveland game.

I think that this Region will belong to Bradley in the end. I believe that most all the teams in this Region are even but even though Cleveland lost to Bradley I still think they are above all the teams in this Region. I think that the dark horse in the tournament isn't Oolteawh, although I wouldn't want to play the Owls, I think the Darkhorse is Cumberland County. They have beaten Cleveland and almost beaten Bradley up there on the hill. I think that besides Bradley Cumberland has to be the team that will do pretty well too.

I think the Semi-Finals will be - Bradley, Cleveland, Cumberland County, and whoever is the #1 out of District 6. (Prolly Brainerd or Ooltewah.)

I think this could be one of the most interesting Region Tournament in the state. I just wish it wasn't played all the way out there in Cumberland so more people could see it. That will stink if its a Bradley -Cleveland finals. Or I am afraid the crowds will be down unless Cumberland can stay in it. Which is always possible in this Region.

Furthermore, since the mantle of head coach has been vacated, upon whom would you bestow the mantle of leadership?

Might one contemplate this notion from such a perspective? Allow me to clarify that my intent does not lean towards disparagement, save for instances where provocation is directed towards myself or the esteemed troupe of the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets who proudly find domicile upon the hallowed grounds of CREEKBANK. In contemplation of the candidates under discussion, it is conjectured that individuals such as Gregory, Woodmore, Vetetoe, Eden, Hackett, and Cothron may emerge as contenders. Regrettably, it is deemed improbable that Shoulders shall express interest in this pursuit. Speculation arises regarding the potential candidacy of BJ West, albeit the implications of familial ties with Lafayette introduce complexities to such a scenario. The enigma of Dr. Clint's deliberations looms large, fraught with the weight of a formidable decision yet to be made.
    • My kind sir, you seem to be lost within the time space continuum having traveled from the 16th Century or you aspire to hide your true intelligence by masking your language with that of the great playwright. You know good and well, your commentary takes your fellow comrades hours to decipher what you are really saying and most of them are likely left questioning whether you have insulted them or find them to be in your favor. I offer you some advice. In my travels through this area of the country, it is best to speak slow and with a twang and you don't annunciate  words to their fullest. Your points will be clear then!  Any names been mentioned around town as Actual Applicants to this job? Seen several post mentioning individuals, but I haven't heard of any of them except for Shoulders. Does he have ties to TC?  Have amy of the other names mentioned ever been in the HC position before?
