Went to Bearden/Farragut this year at Bearden. Big game, big rivalry, but still not as big as a Cleveland/Bradley game.

Went to Alcoa/Maryville football game three years ago. Good crowd, but still not as big as Cleveland and Bradley.

Cleveland and Bradley's rivalry was so bad that they stopped playing in football throughout the majority of the nineties.

Finley Stadium has a play day every year where they invite the rival schools of the chattanooga metro area. They offered Cleveland and Bradley a lump sum of money ($10,000+) to play at Finley Stadium. They declined because they knew they would make at least twice that playing at home.

There are some huge rivalries out there, but none can compare to Cleveland and Bradley. They could be shooting marbles and still be playing for blood in front of 200 people. It doesn't matter. Gotta be one of the biggest in the South.

Class A's biggest baseball rivilary used to be Davidson Academy-Goodpasture (last 2 state champions by the way) ... But a new rivilary coming up is Goodpasture-USJ, eventhough they dont play in the regular season until this year .. it is very heated with the benches clearing in the state tournament last season ... USJ leads series over GP 3-2, but GP leads in state titles 5-3,

Goodpasture also leads DA rivilary 21-5

I would have to say the Cookeville vs. Sparta rivarly is pretty big. It doesn't always post the greatest games but it is always intense. Being from Sparta and now coaching in Sparta I must say records don't matter when these two teams meet. It is always a battle and you never know who might come out on top.

I agree with Bearden and Farragut. They already played 1 good game this year with Farragut winning 5-3, but i think South Doyle and Seymour is turning out to be a decent rivalry, both teams have some power in the lineup and have good pitching. Its always a good game when they play.

BEARDEN WON OVER FARRAGUT 9-5.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
