I have watched both games between these two teams and i promise everyone on here that Clay Co. is in no way looking past this game.  They won both games but both were very tough wins and its always hard to beat one team 3 times in one year.  I look for a very close game and hopefully Clay Co. will make the plays in the end to pull out a victory.  I totally agree with you on the Rigsby kid.  He is the real deal and from what i've seen on the court is a good kid.  Never seen him complain, he's getting hacked and hit every time he gets the ball, he is constantly double and triple teamed and still finds a way to help his team win games.  The kid could play for me any day! thumb

I watched Westmoreland and Van Buren play 3 times this year. You're totally accurate with your comments on Rigsby. The boy is talented and no one works any harder. They put the load on his back, and he carrys it well.

Good luck to both...........

HUSTLE, DEFENSE, REBOUNDING, AND ATTITUDE. Van Buren needs all four to win tonights ballgame. Two evenly matched teams that have already played two good games against each other. The team that wants it the most, and believes they will win it, will be the team in the championship game. It is time to lace those sneakers up and go out on the floor and have some fun. It has been a great year, no sense stopping now. thumb

GO EAGLES!!!

I look forward to seeing all "the mountain" in Baxter tonight to provide energy and encouragement to all these fine young men proudly wearing the maroon and gold!!!

I must say for VB to hang in this game...they must play with a sense of urgency. They did not do that Tuesday night. Can they play with CCHS? Yes, without any question. CC has turned up the intensity a notch. VB must do this, as well, to be in the game. Prediction...CCHS by 5. A hard fought...it is what a region semi-final game is all about!

    • And yes, in 2010 Clary/Scott Monger got into it with a R’dale fan. Well, mostly Monger lol. I think the fan took a swing at him. It’s funny as all get out listening to it on the replay. Scott told the guy to sit his a** down. Lol. That wasn’t the only time SM got into it with an opposing team. Seems like he got into it with someone at William Blount one year. He was an OG lol
    • Nope, they knew lol. He was just one tough hombre. Played right up to near the end of the Powell game like that and we almost won. I think they beat us, 21-17. Was a valiant effort on his part though.
    • No, that was in 2010. We played them in the quarterfinals in ‘11 the year I’m talking about, but we got hammered 35-14. 2010 was a fun year though. Played Maryville in the semis and gave them a really tough game for the majority of that game, but their depth eventually wore OR down, 38-21. Bradley had a few awesome runs in that game. He was a stud. Nothing fancy, but like I said, a mini Tebow. Would keep that read option up the middle and pound that tater in there. He was hard to bring down. Probably went for 195 lbs, if that.
    • Gibson County will be good next year as well. The five girls that didn't start last year are all solid and we have Micah Hart's sister coming up this year. We  will be very competitive especially late in the year. May lose some this summer getting girls reps and trying to figure things out but we are going to be good.
    • Dyersburg will be really good for a while. Their JV is loaded as well. South Gibson ought to be much better with four really good players coming up from an undefeated  Jr. High Team. Also will have 3 players back from knee injuries last year. They will be a handful especially late. Dyersburg District right there with the Upperman District with quality teams.
