I dont blame the whole game on the refs. There are too many factors to say the refs blew the whole game. But they helped in giving Wesmoreland the game.

the refs "gave" nothing to those girls tonight. they worked their butts off, they earned that win. you obviously didn't "dominate" to much because they beat you. i definately agree that CCS was overrated. the Lady Eagles had heart and they never gave up. girls i hope you win it all, you deserve it.

p.s. i'm soooo sorry that i won't be there to watch, but i'll still be cheering for ya

Act like they have been there before? What do you expect from a team who plays freshman 40% of the time, gets beat in Region, travels four hours to Chatt. to play a team with the MJ of girls basketball, gets picked to lose by at least 25, and WINS on a last second three? That isn't everyday material. Good job Westmoreland.

I guess it is time for a retraction. I obviously underestimated Westmoreland and overestimated CCS. But of course it is tournament time and anything can happen. Good luck Westmoreland. I'll try to keep my predictions to myself from now on. That's why I'm not a betting man.

WAY OVERATED! Are you joking yourself? We dominated Wesmoreland. The refs wouldnt call anything on Wes. down low. Nothing! It was ridiculous. We got T'ed up when we should have got a warning. Wesmoreland didnt get a technical on flagrant foul down low (almost tackled on our girls.) I know we lost but to say we were way overated is flat out lie. Good luck in the Tourney Wesmoreland.

What do you mean by overrated? I think it has only been in the last few weeks that CCS has been in the top ten. Maybe some of the yahoos on here had them overrated but those are just fans.

 

CCS really struggled offensively in the second half and Westmoreland handled the press much better. CCS had them rattled in the first half but not in the second.

 

It was a heartbreaker for CCS becuase they should have won. I am not saying that they were that much better than Westmoreland but they should have won and anyone that was there should be able to say that.

 

0-5 from the free throw line and three of those were 1-1 bonus shots in the last minute. You make one of those and the game goes to OT. Actually, Westmoreland would have had to shoot a three to tie.

 

Anyway, the game is over and Westmoreland is still playing. They did a good job in the second half to keep it close. I think the refs were bad but not necessarily bias toward Westmoreland. Playing full court pressure defense gets you into foul trouble. There were alot of traveling and charges called but I think they were on both teams. CCS needed to put the game out of reach in the second half and the reffing wouldn't have mattered.

 

The Westmoreland coach said in the paper that she knew CCS hadn't played many close games which I think showed in the final minutes. They have blown out the last 10-15 teams they have played.

 

Mason is a great player and an even better person and student. Chattanooga will miss her next year.

The fact that no one scored in the first 3 or 4 min of the game and ccs made it 12-0 within 1 min. The whole game ccs was up but 7 or more and did dominate the game. I agree the refs were rediculous but what can you expect its tennessee, and every ref hates ccs. Mason hit a three at the buzzer to send them in to the locker rooms at halftime and ccs was up by at least 10. It call came down to the fourth quarter, where ccs still held the lead by 10. Stupid calls by the refs and stupid mistakes by ccs brought westmorland back into the game. It didnt help that with 12 seconds left our two best players missed their free throws. Whith two seconds left westmorland was the closest they had been all game without surpassing us. ccs was up by two and with .2 seconds left westmorland sent up a prayer and made it....tahts luck for ya

Now, now no sour grapes! If you had dominated, you would have won. Donimation results in a blowout; didn't happen. Mason is a great player, but a team can't win forever when the offence is built around one person. Incidently, it's Westmoreland not Wesmoreland.

Well I was at the game lastnite. CCS dominated but u know what guess whose still playing not CCS.Westmoreland is so get over it.Mason is a great player dont get me wrong but you cant rely on one girl to do it all.These girls never gave up and they dont have just one superstar athlete its all of them.They have heart and you cant let them hang around like CCS did in the 4th quarter bc when u do it comes back to get you.And it did.You can't blame the refs you shoulda took care of business when you had us down, you were playing @ home for crying out loud.These were 2 very good teams and its sad to see one lose but as for blaming the refs thats crazy. IF Im not mistaken we went 2 state 2 years ago bc I was a senior and it was so great.We had Ezell @ the half but they came out in the 2nd half and got us but it was a great experience.Good Luck girls @ the BORO.

CCS is a great team but they lost it under pressure. They were dominating the whole game for the first half. They were up by double figures to start the second half. Then they started playing casual. They took quick threes in transition. They threw lazy passes and didn't rebound. They had already decided in their minds that they had one so they didn't show up mentally in the second half. They even had two oppurtunities to stretch out their lead in the last seconds of the game, but the missed to 1-1 foul shot oppurtunities. I think that CCS was totally athleticly superior but i'll take a team that hustles and plays like a team over a group of straight athletes anyday. I'm truly sorry CCS, but congrats to westmorland on the upset.
