best bunters come on??? yeah it is a very important part of the game but anyone can do it well with practice its not really a true talent... and even if it is a "talent" then anyone can aquire it with little practice.

being good at bunting is an important part of the high school game.

by putting the ball in play you make the other team make a play in return.

and in the high school game that usually results in errors.

its also a great way to manufacture runs against a good pitcher.

bunting and dragging are two different things ... for a drag, you have to have speed, touch, and placement ... just "a little practice" will not make you a good drag bunter ... you either can do it or you cant

If it is so easy to learn then why cant everyone bunt well? I agree practice can make you a better bunter, but it isnt something everyone can do. In reality there are only about two decent bunters on just about every team...every now and then though there will be more.

i agree having a player who is a good drag bunter with speed is a great weapon. have you ever seen ichiro lay one down? he puts them down so perfectly and then flys down the line (12.96) round the bases. its almost unfair

Michael McElhaney of Santa Fe laid down a bunt with runners at 2nd and 3rd down 1st base line and both runners scored...no errors were committed ont he play either. Although he did catch them off guard since he runs a 6.0 40.
