Lexington HS is looking good....right now we are 2-0 with both wins also being District 14 South victories.......we also just had three young men sign scholarships with Union University yesterday (3.15.05) Brian Jones, John Hawley, & Michael Lee. We also have scored 13 goals and given up none. We host Adamsville next Tuesday.

yeah we did get handled in the jamboree by both westview and madison 3-0 and 4-0 respectively i expected westview to do more damage but they didn't for some reason. As for the teams we have played so far none of them are worth bragging about first game was against scotts hill and the second was against chester county.

don't get the wrong idea...i'm not agreeing that we are one of the best in west tn. but, during the jamboree we had several people out. we didn't have some of our key players at the game. if they had been there, who knows what would've happened.

As far as what happened at Jamboree let's just lay it all out on the table shall we? Lexington was out no less than 5 (FIVE) starters due to injury or not being there at all (this includes the three that signed with Union). The starting keeper was pulled about ten minutes into the game and was replaced by a young man that had not spent a lot of time in goal during training. (The starting keeper did not play for the remainder of the tournament due to disciplinary reasons.)

Westview is a great team and played a very clean and competitive match. Madison played a good game as well, although I did see a player, whose number shall remain unmentioned, constantly throwing hard elbows every time he got near an LHS player.Again, without the starters, the replacements just were not as solid on offense or defense. I am not saying that we would have beaten these teams with our full squad, we may have even lost a lot worse than what we did, these are, however, some facts that need to be kept in mind when discussing LHS in reference to the Jamboree.

And do not let the scores of the first two games fool anyone either; Scotts Hill is getting better....we only led 3-0 at the half and 1-0 over Chester Co. at the break, but both teams played hard and never gave up despite being down. thumb

Our counties border each other......but Lexington to Jackson (depending on which school you're going to) is about 20-30 minutes.

But we do play AT Ridgeway AND Dyersburg.

you cannot look at how a team will do during the regular season by looking at an jamboree. Most teams play their varsity players for a half and play their JV during the rest of the games. Usually teams go to jamborees to get experience for the young players, not to play the best and try to win. Unlike Madison and Westview, who simply went to the jamboree to win, which is fine, but nobody needs to start assuming how a team will do based on the jamboree.

Westview went just to win :P . I went and watched, they played plenty of subs. The only game they treated as a match was against Sheffield and that was more of a test to see how they could match up and it was very even. Against Lexington and everyone else, they hardly played full strength.
