Bearden has been half decent at these 7v7 events. At Karns, they lost 1 game to Gibbs, tied with Carter, and went 3-0 against Fulton, Karns, and Heritage.
They played a 7v7 at Lenoir City. I can’t remember who they played, but they went 4-0-1.
Of course, a 7v7 is nothing compared to what you have to put on the field in a few months, but the team’s come a long way from back in April when they showed up to Sevier County’s seven-on-seven with 5 players, and then compared to last year when I don’t think they won a single 7v7 or camp or game.
I really don’t know how much people keep up with Bearden, and I only really do it because I like Brad Taylor. I think he’s a great guy. I wish nothing but the best for him, but if you’re looking for a team breakdown, the defensive backs look really good. They have a pretty decent big man at receiver who transferred in from William Blount. They also got a speedy back I couldn’t get his name but probably one of the West transfers that made their way over and back to the school, their zone, I would have to assume.
They have a gauntlet of a schedule. It will be interesting to see that West versus Bearden game to start the season though.
