This is always a big rivalry game no matter the records. Jo Byrns is coming off a close loss to WHH. Clarksville Academy is coming off a big homecoming win over Harpeth. I don't know what to expect from the RedDevils this year. I have not seen them in person. I have heard and read that they have been hot and cold at time. That there defense is good but have difficulty scoring?????. CA has had a balanced attack for the most part the past 4 games. The defense has also played pretty good. I expect this game to be a battle. A old-fashion wrestling match. The winner of this game will be inline for one of the two top spots in the District. Of course NCS will have something to say about who this district champion is. Still a lot of football to be played. Go Cougars.

The Jo Byrns fans are laying low.

Very low. You have to go back to at least '04 to see when JB last had a 3 game losing streak. This team is going to have to learn how to put a complete game together and win together. I thought they had plenty of chances to win against WHH, but never took advantage of opportunities. CA is going to be riding on the high of a big win last week and will have all the confidence in the world at home on the river bank. JB needs to play to General Neyland's Maxims...and the first 3 maxims are a good place to start.

I had took look it up! I think Clarksville Academy will use this instead!

General Neyland Maxims

1. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.

2. Play for and make the breaks and when one comes your way - SCORE.

3. If at first the game - or the breaks - go against you, don't let up... put on more steam.

4. Protect our kickers, our QB, our lead and our ball game.

5. Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle... for this is the WINNING EDGE.

6. Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made.

7. Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes.

Good win for the Cougars. Anytime you beat the Red Devils its a good win. No matter what it is always a competitive game. JB capatialized on two costly CA turnovers (interceptions). JB defensive front gave the Cougars issues most of the night. CA will have to fix some defensive issues before the next game.

I remember earlier in the season some said that NCS and JB had "locks" on the two top spots in the district. I strongly disagreed. Friday night sealed the deal. The Cougars have one of the two top spots locked up. We still have to play Cheatham County, Houston County and the the "Show-down" with NCS. CA will not take the games with Cheatham and Houston County for granted. I expect these team to bring it.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
