Sevier County vs Cleveland

1st meeting ever. The head coach from west knows the Bears pretty well as they have scrimmaged each of the last several pre seasons. Not sure who was the coach but I know the Bears have played west in the past with very little success. Cleveland will be at home with new coach and new uniforms. This will be a tough game & if I am guessing correct most people probably have the Bears as the underdog. The next week the Bears will play West as the defending state champ also on the road. I hope they can get 1 of the 2 but play poorly and 0-2 could happen. Obviously I am planning on them going 2-0 but that's a given when you are predicting 15-0 at the start of every season. :popcorneater:

But seriously what does Cleveland have? Lets hear it blue raider fans.  It is never too early to start the trash talking.

GoBears!!

U said it, new coach, new system, new uniforms. Learning a new system, we are learning from scratch. That pretty much sums it up. Good job trying to talk us up though.

Cleveland will be the underdog in this game. New coach, new system, new backfield, new o-line. Sevier Co. should win this game without a doubt.

THESE 2 WON THE SANDBAGGERS OF THE YEAR AWARD....THEY NEVER TELL LOL..

BUT IT'S TRUE WHEN THEY PLAY DEM OWLS...#LOP

The raider's are starting completely over what do u expect me to say? We do have the dogs to to win some games but we are learning. I do not expect us to come in game 1 and beat sevier CTY. This is gonna take time. But u bet your sweet #### we will be ready for those owls :)

I think we win too, as long as you don't predict a blow out

    • Understand the young thing.  I was one of those.  Barely 17 when I graduated from high school and started college.  But redshirting for athletic purposes isn't doing them any favors, in my opinion.  Life isn't always going to be fair.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
