Saw online the All State Team for 2A. Congrats to Keyvont Baines and Jake Gregory for making All-State Team. Both are Juniors and will be back in 2018.

Coaches, Goodpasture will host its second annual Goodpasture Invitational Tournament January 13, 2018. We will be opening up the tournament to more teams than what we had for 2017 and and we will be changing the team fee to accommodate smaller teams with fewer wrestlers. We have added 3 teams already in addition to 9 teams that have already committed from the 2017 tournament. We will increase the team trophies from top 2 to top 4 and the medals will have customized stamps on the back to reflect the event and placement. We will still be doing the championship finals on a single mat in the middle of the gym with tournament lighting. In addition we will offer 4 wrist bands per team instead of 3. Like everyone was told before the season began it has been a tough first half of the season for the Irish and will continue to be a rough road. When you combine youth, injuries and little battle tested experience it makes for a long season. All one can do is keep their nose to the grindstone and know that help is on the way.

Congrats to the Commanders, the seniors, and all their fans on a truly special year that ended the way you can only dream your football career would come to an end. It's great as an alumni to be able to watch your school to continue to reach the pinnacle of football success, where previous teams laid the foundation and created a tradition for them to strive to reach, is awesome to witness. Also, congrats to DCA for a great year and run to the State Championship game. I wish the best to Coach Beau and many prayers will continue to go up for him and his family.
