  1. This is the first year for Carter to have paid parking in what is called "The Cage" but there is also public parking. Carter's Band is doing it for a fundraiser because they will be traveling to London, England in January to march in the New Years Parade. I don't mind paying but atleast give the money to a sport or organization not the school.
  2. Ok I am a big enough woman to admit when I make a mistake I was getting the stats from the County School Systems but hey I made a mistake, as for Friday night I DID say that it was gonna be one heck of a game that both teams were fired up and I was right. This year Seymour has one heck of a good team and they showed it. Both teams gave a great showing and should be commended for it. Way to Go Hornets and Way to Go Eagles Good Luck in the Playoffs. You know in these days there are not alot of High Schools that you can go to and say I got to see a great game but in all the games I have been to of Carter that has been the case and it seems that Seymour has it this year. Go Carter Hornets......You all are still #1 in my heart. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  3. KevB1990 Carter only has 861 students. I look for tonights game to be a great one both teams are fired up and ready to go.
  4. And how many has Seymour made??????hmmmmmmmmm I am almost there 0
  5. I am a parent from Carter and I can say that both teams played their hearts out, this was the best played game I have seen in a long time. Both teams gave 110% and we all said at the beginning this game was going to be a game that the team that had the ball at the end of the game would win. AE has an exceptional coaching staff and the speed on their team is astronomical, I forsee another meeting for Carter and AE in the playoffs. Any person that was at this game got their $6.00 worth. We wish AE all the luck in Region 2 and look for another meeting. Keep up the sportsmanship and talent and AE will go far. Carter has an exceptional team and makes mistakes but they are growing and learning more everyday. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. Carter in NO way is a 4A school they have just over 800 students enrolled. Also making reference to what Carter did the first few weeks when they did play 4A schools I believe if I am not mistaken Bearden is a 5A school with a 6-1 record and Carter was also down 3 players all of them being starters. They reclassify in 2009 and I don't believe Carter will go to 4A because they don't have the enrollment. Where the focus really needs to be is on Fulton which has dominated this class for the past 4 or 5 years I believe if we get Fulton, AE, and Catholic out of this class then more teams like Carter, Seymour, Rutledge will have a better chance of seeing state. I know for a fact in Louisville, KY that if you pay to go to a school they are in a class of their own, such as St. X, Trinity and DeSales. No disrespect to Catholic because they are a great team but they have an advantage on getting players. Guys realize Carter does not have anything handed to them on a Silver Platter they work and play hard for every victory as with any team in these regions. Instead of people making the assumption that Carter in playing the the wrong classification maybe you should come out and see actually how small Carter High School really is and look at some of the other schools in the class that should be in 4A. MY OPINION AND IT IS JUST THAT CARTER AND SEYMOUR ARE BOTH IN THE CLASS THAT THEY SHOULD BE AND THEY BOTH PLAYED AN ENJOYABLE GAME ON FRIDAY.
  7. You know there are not to many schools that like to play Austin East because of just exactly this reason. Austin East is probably on of the dirties playing teams in Knox County. I do know that when we went down there to play them they were out to hurt our players and it was quite obvious. It is sad to say that as a parent of a player I would rather my child sit the bench than step on the field against that team. This is a school that has parents that get hardship transfers to other schools just so their kids don't have to go to that school. This type of action from them does not surprise me though, they have poor sportsmanship and no respect for other players. I am really sorry to hear about your player and pray that he recovers and can play again someday. When Carter hosted Livingston Academy the year they won State their players and fans were a true joy and welcome back anytime. GO HORNETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. If you didn't see the game then how can you say that it looked like Seymour shut Carter down on all but 3 plays. It was Carter that shut Seymour down several times on the goal line. Carter played great ball, and were fighting a battle that was won and well deserved. As for moral victories Carter played by the rules you tell me how a player on the other team can get in the ref's face and Carter gets an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Lets just say that both teams went out to play a good game and to give the crowd something to watch and they did. Both teams played it just seemed that Carter wanted it more. CONGRATULATIONS to both teams on a game well played and let's all Thank God that there was no player taken off in an ambulance and that they are all able to play in this coming weeks games. Good Luck Seymour in this weeks game
  9. MY heart and prayers goes out to you and the family of the young man. I am well familiar with the loss of a sibling and best friend and know the toll it takes on ones life. No words will help with the pain that you all are feeling just know that the players of Knoxville Carter High School and Community expresses their deepest sympathies and will keep all in our prayers....
  10. Hey a big thanks to you Former Player your comment just gave a little more fuel to the fire to the Hornets. No it wasn't close because the Eagles got their wings clipped as for speed and talent when you have a team like Carter that not only has speed and talent they have that one thing that Coaches can only pray for they have HEART and the way they played Friday night showed it. WTG Ryan Roach for 96 yard TD and to Landry Stanton for connecting with him. G Caldwell what can be said you are one heck of a player, but you know I can go on and on about all the players on the team but I am not here to do that I am here to say CONGRATULATIONS CARTER HORNETS you played as the Championship Team that the whole community knows you can and you WON as the Championship Team. GO HORNETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. You have heard that Carter does have GOD playing for them, Moses was a linebacker and we had angels in the backfield. Carter 20 Seymour 0, I guess we had the divine intervention, looks like to me it is Carter 82 and Seymour 0. GO HORNETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  12. Carter looks good this year, I have a son that plays on the team. I only know of one started that quit but he quit not because of anything the Coaches or team did he quit for educational reasons he wanted to concentrate on his grades being his Senior year. He isan't one that is easily replaced but as many people know Carter not only has talent on the field they have it on the sidelines so when that player quit their was someone waiting in the wings. The great thing about Carters coaches is that they don't just have one person that can play that one position each player is trained on playing several different positions on the field. Carter has had 2 scrimmages that have taught them where their weak spots are and the coaches have already nipped it in the bud. I look for Carter to take the region this year and hope they do but I think they are going to have to work for it this year. They players and coaches are looking forward to each game this year and prepared for Seymore. GO HORNETS!!!!
  13. Thanks, feeling alot better I will be going to watch him when my son is not playing. Probably the last week in October Carter has a bye that week we will go and watch Catholic. Go Hornets!!
  14. Carter scrimmages Cherokee @ Cherokee 08/03 @ 7 pm Plays Central @ Central 08/16 for Jamboree Go Hornets!
  15. Ruse? I was meaning no disrespect to Eric, him and my son played football together in middle school and I think Sam has alot to be proud of. Eric is an awesome player and any college would be lucky to get him. Eric is tall and lean is the reference I was making to his size. I didn't get to see him play last year due to an illness I just remember his talent from middle school and his Freshman and Sophomore year.
  16. Eric is an awesome player people need to watch out for him and not let his size fool you
  17. I have to say Carter does have a tougher schedule this year but people must remember they have 2 awesome Quarterbacks: Landry Stanton just a junior and starting has several years under his belt plus a great family history of producing greatness and Tyler Clifton a Senior that is always willing to step up to the plate and help out. My predictions: 1.) Carter 2.) Seymour 3.) Rutledge 4.) Pigeon Forge 5.) Claiborne 6.) Gibbs 7.) Union Co. The coaches have made the schedule harder this year to prepare the team for the playoffs. Go Hornets!!!!
  18. Hands down, it has been a long time since I have seen a player as good as Rogan, the kids has it all Speed, Hands, Knowledge, and is an all around good kid with a wonderful since of the game. He truly shows in the end what it is to be a great player because he instead of soaking up the glory takes the time to tell the other players that they did a good job and it was a joy playing with them. My son and I both agree that if Rogan doesn't win Mr. Football then something is wrong. The Kid is Mr. Football. Good Luck Dennis and all of the Fulton Falcon from Carter we are looking for you to bring the gold back to East Tennessee.
  19. I agree with you Joe Hall from Carter is one heck of a player and I have all the respect for each and everyteam that Carter has played this year. In My honest opinion I think each team should have at least 1 kid up for the Mr. Football then go back and look at their stats but don't look at the region they are in. A team as far as I know doesn't pick the region they go to, Please Correct me if I am wrong. No matter who wins Mr. Football each and every kid that is on the teams that are in the workout rooms year round, out in the heat of the sun during the summer, giving up vacations and their teenage life just to be on that sideline on Friday Nights should be recognized in some way, shape or form.
  20. GOOD LUCK to all of the East TN Teams headed for the Championship, bring the Gold back to East TN and show them where real football players come from.
  21. Stupid question but have to ask? How do they decide the Regions? Carter is only 10 Min from Austin East, about 15 Min from Fulton and 20-25 From Catholic? Just a question never have understood the logic behind it.
  22. Rumor has it that Gibbs and I think Seymour(forgive me if I am wrong) have to move up to 4-A because of enrollment. I being a parent of a Carter Hornet have heard (from the Rumor Mill so take it with a grain of salt) that we will be playing Austin East but have never been told that it was a Region game. Whether we do or don't it will be a learning experience for Carter that is exactly what they did when playing Fulton. Carter has great coaches and even greater players and from each game played whether it be a Region game or not Coaches instill in the players that they should learn something from each game.
  23. Never seen Pearl-Cohn play but there is no stopping Rogan & Freeney from Fulton. Good Luck Falcons from the Mom and Player of the Hornets. Bring the Gold Back to East Tennessee where it belongs.
  24. All the respect in the world, coming from a Carter Fan, yes I was wanting to see Catholic win because my son has played with some of the kids that go to Catholic. But as my son stated the night of the Carter - Fulton game all players are going to talk smack on the field but off the field Rogan and the players showed great sportsmanship, that comes straight from having a great coach. I would like to say that alot of people have disagreed with somethings I have said on here and that is understandable but everyone has an opinion that is why we live in The Great USA. I would like to say to Rogan, Freeney and all the players of FULTON High GOOD LUCK on the road to the Championship bring the Goldball back to East Tennessee. I know that the Carter Hornets are wanting to see you bring the ball home. Rogan & Freeney play with all the heart that you have all season long and there is no team out there to stop you
  25. OK, I have read on here about that Carter gave all these Cheap shots, I was at the first game and saw bothteams doing it not one more than the other. What I think we should do is just hope for a good game that no player gets hurt, and each of the kids take either the win or loss as a learning experience. Carter has got great players on their team as well as Fulton. Maybe Carter won't win tonight and maybe they will get stomped but there were several people saying that Carter couldn't beat a team that is in Region 2 that they were going to get stomped by Kingston and I let the scoreboard speak for that. Kids are going to be kids they are all going to talk smack and as long as they take from the game that they gave it all they have then that is all we can ask for. Good Luck to both teams play smart and play fair and may the best team win.
