  1. Faith Dupree is a sophmore. Her sister, Emily, is a senior. Faith is the taller of the two and starts. Emily is a strong contributor coming off the bench. Both are great kids.
  2. Watch out for Lausanne! Assuming Webb gets by JPII, they could spring an ambush!
  3. Yes, you are right. Congratulations to Molly and Kelley
  4. Kelly Dyer is a top 25 recruit according to Soccer Buzz. http://www.soccerbuzz.com/recruits07/topplayers50.htm
  5. Glory Johnson, hands down. She may not have the statistics of some of the others, but she has shown up big in the tough games. Lower statistics are also a function of Coach Collier's desire to create a rotation and to let all the girls play, especially in the games that aren't close. In the Greeneville tournament she literally willed Webb to beat Maryville after falling behind early. In the finals against Lexington Catholic (one of the best teams in the Nation), Glory dominated and led Webb to victory. Ask anyone who's seen her--she's a 6'3" athelete who runs and jumps like a deer and competes as hard as anyone you've seen.
  6. mjuhb--what about Bearden? They lose a couple of very good seniors but they return an awful lot. Plus they will re-load through their middle school system.
  7. YIKES! Do we have a player promoting herself? Very interesting! If so, give her an "A" for initiative, "D-" for ethics.
  8. mjuhb: Are these teams yours or teams named by another organization? Thanks.
  9. Do you have the info for a/aa and div II? BTW, I can't believe Dana Schwartz(sp?) is not on the team.
  10. Link to all results, all flights and age groups here: http://www.gotsport.com/events/?eventid=894

  12. My thoughts on this, for what it's worth. I agree with Sports24 that the Hendersonville web site was practicing "spin", which we see everywhere today. A frequent example is the old we beat x who beat y who beat z who was the State/Region/National champions. That makes us better than the National champs! What the Hendersonville web site does is slightly different, but it's along the same lines. I think 90% of soccer parents engage in this spin. I personally don't care for it, even though I occaisionally do it, because the results on the field speak definitively for themselves...and that's all that truly matters. Having said the above, Hendersonville has a proud, successful soccer history (and a good web site, I might add!) and would be better served letting their results speak for themselves. I'm sure they'll be back up there in the coming seasons, competing for both boys and girls championships.
  13. Great! All the best to all the kids!
  14. Thanks Greeneville. I'm curious why you say that. BA are defending and I understand they have a lot coming back.
  15. I think it would be very simple. If an unscrupulous coach violates the rule, the word would get out fast because everyone knows everyone in the soccer community. Someone would quickly drop a dime on the offending school/coach I think. From there it would not be difficult to prove the violation. All that would be needed is a school roster, a few phone numbers, and time to interview the coach and players. Circumventing the investigation would require collusion among the coach, the players, the school, and the club team. Not impossible, but highly unlikely to succeed, in my opinion. Having said this, I don't like the proposed rule [isn't it interesting that no one is in favor of the rule, yet it's still going to become a rule?]. And I agree with previous post that it would create a new administrative, regulatory burden on the coach and school. Useless work to comply with a useless rule.
  16. TSSAA will make the institution and coach responsible. Both will do a very good job of policing because they won't want their athletic progam and job to be jeopardized.
  17. Yes, thank you. For me, BGA / Baylor was the hardest pick. Having seen many of the top teams around the State this year, I though St. Agnes was remarkable for a high school team. Congratulations to SAA, CAK, Bearden and all the other fine teams.
  18. Congratulations Siegel players and coaches. You had a great season.
