I agree with you 100%. It just goes to show that Blevins is more than a coach on the court, but that he truly cares for each and every one of his players that he has coached since the 1994. Mic was a great guy. He graduated in 1996 and was a SR on a team that made two state tournament apperances in both his SO and JR years. I will always remember Mic, for hitting a 3 pointer at the buzzer from the hash mark in front of the Bearden bench to beat Karns his SR year. It was an amazing shot, that I will never forget. Mic, you will be missed and you did great things.

From what I heard, the boys played very well in both games. I am very proud to say that we finished in the top 4 of the state this year. I never would have expected it. Congrats Bulldogs on a great season and I can't wait for next year to get here already!!!

Without knowing anything about Beech, I have no idea what to expect from them. I know that Bearden has the guards to handle the rock and shoot the three. If they can penetrate the zone and find some open men on the low block, I think that they can score. Any idea of what the game time is?

thanks for all the helpful insight. I tend to agree that it will be White Station vs Melrose in the Finals, but thats why they call it march madness. Anything can happen. I will be intrested to see what the brackets are like when they are released tommorow. Should be fun anticipating the matchups and great banter amongst the teams fans on the message boards next week.

I want to know a little more about the other 7 teams that Bearden has the chance of playing next week in the Boro. Bearden Has terrific guard play. A little on the small side, but tremendously quick. All of them can handle the rock very well and have an abundance of energy. They usually rotate between 8-9 players and keep the pressure up all game. What they lack is a true inside presence. Their tallest player is listed at 6'5. He has some good post moves, but is on the slim side. Coaching is excellent and this team will be prepared for whatever team they are up against. Coach Blevins obviously knew what he was doing last year when he would sub 5 in and 5 out (at times, I did question the timing of his substitution patterns though). Regardless of what happens next week in Murfreesboro, I have never been more impressed with a Bulldog team that this year. This will go down as one of the greatest teams ever in the history of Bearden Basketball. I never would have guessed that losing 5 starters (3 of which are on D-1 rosters), that this team would make it back to state....scary thing is...they only lose one player from this years team!!!! Good Luck to the Bulldogs next week. I wish I could be there, but I will be sippin CCL by the pool at the MGM Grand in Vegas with Mouth!!!!

Excellent point. Pitts is a legend in HS Bball in the State of TN. He actually coached the best player to ever play at Bearden, John Johnson. I wish I would have had the chance to see him play, but was only 4 years old when he graduated

Bearden is coached by Blevins, therefore they are going to the State Tourney!!! Hands down, Beardens Blevins and Fultons Wright are two of the best coaches to ever come through Knoxville. They both have their teams prepared for no matter who their opponents may be. Congrats to both the Bulldogs and Falcons on their return trips back down I-40 WEST

The Trailblazers came down to the Doghouse and played well, but Beardens athletism was too hard to handle for Daniel Boone. They played hard and I was impressed by #14 and #24. I think it hurt them that Connell got his 3rd foul and got t'd up on the same play for his 4th foul. That really hurt the trailblazers because Connell never came back in the game. The Daniel Boone fans traveled well. Great win Bulldogs, and you deserve the trip back to the Boro. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever guessed this group of players would have made it back there after losing all 5 starters from last years team. Our boys will see something in the state tourney that they haven't faced all year...size and athletism from the Memphis teams. The Blev will have them prepared. Regardless from what happens from here on out, this will go down as one of the greatest teams to have ever graced the parquet floor of BHS. Good Luck guys and way to play hard!!!

You must have never seen Bearden play...this team plays harder than any Bearden team I have seen in the last 15 years. We won't underestimate Boone, they just better be ready to come play with the Big Dogs!!!

you are right on point. Bearden played 2-3 zone all night and Central wasn't hitting from outside.

Saw the game last night. So impressed with how Bearden is playing (had played all season). Maybe not the same quality athletes as last year, but in my opinion a much better TEAM. Each guy knows his role and plays it well. I only see one player on the team that perhaps struggles at times with the "team" concept and it seems like Coach Blevins does a great job of keeping him in check. Obviously, you've got the Memphis powerhouses to deal with, but I really think this Bearden team can make it to Murfreesboro and maybe make some noise there. Agreed 100%. At the beginning of the season, there was no way that I thought this team would be 29-2 going into the Region Championship. These players know how to play together as a team. The scary thing is that they only lose one senior from this years squad. Blevins has got this team playing well. Hopefully they will make it back to the Boro.

Bearden played great tonight!!! Didn't expect the outcome to be so one sided. Ty Greene led the Bulldogs with 27 points. Big matchup with the West vs LC winner on Thursday night at the Doghouse. Side note, the LC vs West game was postponed tonight and will be played tommorow night at LC. Should be a great game. The Bulldogs better be ready to play lights out, or they will be traveling North for the Substate.

This should be a really intresting Region Tourney this year. I can easily see both West and AC pulling off 1st round upsets. IMO, I would rather see Catholic beat Central, because I think Bearden matches up better against the Irish than that of the Bobcats (that is if the Bulldogs get past the Wildcats in Round 1). I would love to see Bearden hosting AC for the Region Title at the Doghouse next Wed night!!! That would be the best scenario for this CAT!!!

The Region games this year are being played at the higher seeded teams for the 1st and 2nd round. In the event that the two seeds are the same, the game will be played at the home court of the 4-AAA team

The Memphis Regional is brutal!!!! Im as big as a Bearden fan as there is, but to see the Bulldogs coming out of the Regional is a far stretch. Its unfortunate that only 2 teams can make the State from Memphis. I would love to be at some of those games...especially the Region Semis!!! I think that will be my boy over at AE, Charles Mitchell. Or even maybe even Jody Wright. Mitchell and Wright goes to the State just about every year, you don't hear much about those Puppies going to state.. But I'm ready for Monday so those Rebels can get another victory over those Puppies.. GO WEST/Let's GO AE!! Didnt go to Bearden. As i said before BLEVINS is NOT a good coach. Just because he wins during season against average talent means absolutely nothing. He cant win a title. You thinking he is a great coach is unintelligent. Give it up and admit it and you will feel better about it. SLAP! With your logic then, Dan Marino was not a good QB. Marino never won a Super Bowl, so he is one defiently not a good QB. Success in the post season, doesn't always mean that a coach isn't successful. Get a good coach over there and you will win titles. you must be a kid that cut from Blevins team because you couldn't cut it on the floor...quit wasting our time with assine comments. You can't sit here and tell me that Blevins isn't a good coach, when he lost 5 starters from last years team and has the same regular season record as they did last year.
