  1. First let me congratulate Baylor on an outstanding season and for playing in the championship game. I had the pleasure to attend last night's game...the team I support (Red Bank) lost in the playoffs last week so that afforded me the opportunity to take in this game. Baylor is a class act and could have run up the score last night as a BGA fan on here already mentioned. Their was great sportsmanship on the parts of Baylor and BGA and that goes for the fans. You need to get over your sensitive side here. The fan you are enraged over said nothing to be offended over. He was not trashing your program. We all say something sometimes that maybe could be worded differently. That may be the case here in chosing the word of "heart" He did this on a Baylor BGA board....not a BA. Yes, you could take what you said wrong also in bringing up BGA and McCallie's records. Yes, you quoted their records acurately....but if someone wants to get " sensitive like you have"....well your intent was known by that as well. Also, you mention Baylor only beat BA by one point. That is just as good as 40 isn't it? Counts the same way. I believe that the problem here is that Ensworth mounted a great comeback and defeated your team. Since you are trying to be high and mighty...maybe you need to reread your posts....kind of over the top no doubt. Congratulations again to Baylor....you should be proud.
  2. A belated congrats to Baylor for their big win over McCallie. I was at the Red Bank playoff game...sadly we lost. I will be at the Baylor/BGA game Friday night in what I hope to be a Red Raider win. Good luck Baylor.
  3. Here's to Red Bank winning our game tomorrow night....and to a big Red Raider victory over the Dodds Ave school Friday night. Good luck to Baylor. Reading the usual comments from a few McCallie fans (2)with their usual backhanded digs makes me hope for a big Baylor win. Go Red Bank!
  4. Should be a great game. I think if Baylor plays their game...Baylor wins. You are right that all the pressure will be on Baylor because they are expected to win. I hope to get tickets to the game. I say Baylor 28 McCallie 17.
  5. It takes away from having to perform during the season. I also don't think a team that is below 500 should be in the playoffs. Just my opinion. Oldwiseone...last time I saw you post you wanted to fire McCallie's football staff. I did understand what you was saying. It seems that McCallie has slowly gone down in the last few years. I understand your frustration...much like mine has been with Red Bank this year.
  6. Thanks for providing stats jon26 and congrats to Baylor on the win. I have never been a fan of Potter. I know he is a winner but he is too cocky for my taste. Looks like Baylor had twice the yards that Brentwood had and you guys shut them down with just 33 yards in the second half. Give them a touchdown by allowing them to start on your 9 yard line due to a big punting error. And Potter is quoted as saying." we could have easliy won the game by a couple of touchdowns." Yeah right! Looks like Potter was lucky to have not lost by a couple of touchdowns! Again, Congratulations...Potter sounds like he has a case of sour grapes. Go Red Bank!
  7. Watching this game on the internet. Baylor has a hoss of a running back in a guy named Porter. This guy is just a freshman and he is putting on a show in the 2nd half. Baylor's o line is very good. 3 minutes left in the game and the score is Baylor is winning convincingly 27-6.
  8. Thank you for sharing this information. I am so sorry for their loss. Prayers go out from this Chattanooga family.
  9. For those from other cities in Tennessee that have never been around for Baylor/McCallie week....it is really something. I don't think any other city that I have heard of can compete with this rivarly. It is played up in the media. The red flags with the huge B and blue flags with the huge M that fly from students cars and just the pagentry itself is something to see. I am not talking about small flags either. These are huge homemade flags that fly proudly from trucks and suvs. I will not be at the game...as Red Bank plays that night. But I will tape it since it is the TV game of the week. I look for Baylor to extend the streak that they started last year. But in a rivalry game like this...you never know. I will predict Baylor 28 McCallie 20.
  10. Congratulations to Baylor on a big win. Glad it was on a Thursday so I could see the game. Huesman is a great athlete for sure. Also impressed with Baylor's D.
  11. I did not know this game was on Thursday night. Perfect since Red Bank plays on Friday. Have been wanting to see Baylor's new turf so I will be at Heywood Stadium Thursday. I am looking forward to seeing Huesman play. Really wish he would stay in Chattanooga next year to play for his Dad at UTC. Good luck to Baylor and Go Red Bank!
  12. Not a fan of either team but McCallie always beats CCS. I don't see it being any different this year. McCallie 2-0.
  13. Somehow, if McCallie were to "kick Steeler Butt" I don't think that would make "Potter livid." Your original post made it sound as though you supported your team primarily to get revenge.... Thank you feverpitch for "getting it". Oldwiseone is the one that did not get it at all. He obviously still resents Potter for leaving his school...as he did not answer that question. Not surprised.
  14. I know it is what you want....but are you being realistic? BA is rolling and McCallie is not. Are you still upset that he left McCallie for BA....curious as to what the McCallie mindset is towards Potter a few years later.
  15. Baylor should be riding high after a great win last week. Sounds like BA lost a close, hard fought game with Ensworth. Since the Red Raiders have to travel to BA obviously this gives BA the edge with not traveling and playing at home. However, I think Baylor will win in a great game. Baylor 28 BA 24
  16. Living close to Signal Mtn and the Baylor campus (live in Red Bank) I saw the red flags flying and all of the excitement the last few days. Well...........congratulations Baylor Nation. I was really pulling for you guys to beat McCallie and end the streak. Sounds like you did it in a very convincing way so kudos to you. I really wish that Red Bank and Baylor played this year....it would be a whale of a game I think. Anyway, job well done.
  17. Well Red Raider Nation....not that you can really go by the "so called" designated expects that pick who they think will win. BUT....just listed on chattanoogan.com the "experts" picked Baylor to beat McCallie by a 5-2 margin. They also picked my Red Bank Lions to keep rolling by a 7-0 margin. Again, not that it means anything....but we all know how we like to see who is picked and love it when our team is picked. Good luck on a good game and Go Red Bank!
  18. Just do it....I agree with your quote except their won loss records are not identical. Baylor is 4-1 and McCallie is 4-2. So the Red Bank Lions will keep rolling..............and the "streak" is going to stop rolling. Baylor will win in a close one. Baylor 34 McCallie 28.............................................GO RED BANK!
  19. So far so good.....keep it up Red Bank! Exciting football so far.
  20. I would think that the 5 McCallie student athletes that drove drunk to Signal Mountain High School last year to get in a fight...then get arrested....and then still continues to have their pictures and school's name on the news due to court dates would be much more embarrassing to you. It would me but I am not as wise I guess. No dog in this hunt but I really hope Baylor beats you this year. Go Owls! That may be one of the lamest posts I have seen on here. And you're obviously jealous of McCallie's tradition whoever you are based on your sentence right here, "No dog in this hunt but I really hope Baylor beats you this year. Go Owls!" I guess it is even more apparent now than ever that Baylor wants to see McCallie get beat if they are having to show up at games not even featuring their own team...Pretty Pitiful if you ask me. I guess they have figured out after 11 long years that they will not be beating the Blue anytime soon, so they figured they might as well show up at a game where McCallie's a huge underdog to do their little cheer.... WOW! My take is entirely different from yours. And from reading other responses theirs is different from your as well. Owl, along with others, seemed put off by a few sarcastic McCallie fans as always putting Baylor down. All you have to do is read other posts where they jab at will when it is not even about them. It seems that McCallie students have gone to Baylor events and done their "little cheer" as well. I think when fans on here go after another school....they get called out. And that is what happened. I have not seen any Baylor fans on here going after McCallie....just the other way around. So that is where this is coming from. Go Red Bank!
  21. I couldn't agree with you more here! As for the football game I am sure this will be a tough game for Baylor to win on the road. Here's to hoping the Red Raiders bring a victory back to Chattanooga. Go Red Bank!
  22. Sorry to hear about MBA's qb. Tough for a senior....I hope he heals well.
  23. I agree this should be a good game....great rivalry. Soddy has looked good and lost 2 games they were in to 2 great teams. Red Bank looked great last week and got a solid win over Boyd. I see Red Bank winning but in a close one. Red Bank 28....Soddy 21. Go Lions!
  24. McCallie mom you picked BGA to beat Baylor so maybe your judgement is not that good? And please stop with the excuses. If you saw the news coverage about the Tyner/Baylor game you know that it was clearly dominated. Turnovers play a part. But the over team plays a part in causing the team to turn the ball over. Your continued obsession with Baylor is really showing. Go Lions!
