  1. Credit to Lenoir City for a good game plan and playing hard. OR had a lot of guys banged up and definately missed them in a few positions. LC was able to complete quite a few passes to keep drives going. They are definitely the 2nd place team in our district. OR and LC will have home field at least the first round of the playoffs.
  2. Lenoir City has run some single wing and it’s important for the defense to stay home and not get caught with its misdirection plays. They got us last year on what looked like the old Buck lateral play for a 69 yard play. OR struggled a bit with them last year before pulling away in the second half. Win this one and clinch the Region.
  3. I thought the call on the goal line was correct, the Heritage runners hand touched out of bounds before he hit the pylon with the ball, however I thought the spot was wrong, they spotted on the one yard line and I thought it should have been just short by a foot or so of the goal line.
  4. Indians roll in a tune up for the Hilltoppers...and playoff position behind Jeff County
  5. I think Bearden will beat Bradley, barring any turnovers. They have the better lines and can rotate fresh linemen in and out on defense depending on what offense the other team runs, They have guys good at stopping the run, then they can bring in speed rushers to attack the quarterback in passing situations. For Bradley to win, they need to put a lot of points up early, maybe benefitting from a turnover and get far enough ahead to survive getting mashed up front and worn down. I would say Bearden 28 Bradley 14
  6. Jeff looks pretty good, reminds me of the mid 80s teams. After a bit of a slow start, they have manhandled the sinking Admirals.
  7. Well, Clinton needs a win over Karns to stay in 4th I think. If Keith played, I am sure he is sore, probably not his usual self.
  8. That....was an enjoyable game and about the best OR has played since the win over West in the 2020 semifinals. No doubt the best game so far this season. Nice job by the defense of bend but don't break and keeping them out of the end zone. Offense was really good in the first half, putting up 21 points and moving the ball on long drives. Some really nice play calling too. Kicking was good too, the 42 yard field goal attempt was just a tick wide but had the distance. Kickoffs to the end zone were nice. Long time coming to dispense with the wine and cheese crowd in their house. 35-3.
  9. Hardin Valley will be OK, but it will take some time, I have a lot of faith in Coach Miner and his staff over there that they will continue to teach good fundamentals to the kids they have and hopefully upcoming classes buy into what they are teaching and they will get better. In the Region they are in right now they are at a disadvantage to some of those teams that can bring in some ringer recruits. As a good coach I know once said, "No matter how good a coach you are, you gotta have players"
  10. Still no word on Keith I guess. Its Friday. I think the Dragons are in big trouble at LC if he doesn't play. He is their leader and best player, and he can make things happen even with a busted play. LC runs the ball pretty weill as I gather from this thread. Can Clinton's defense get them off the field? If Keith doesn't play can the backup (#5?) move the team for scores?
  11. I'm not so sure the Indians will win in a blowout. The Billys have shown signs of life this season and its at their place. I think DB wins, but it may only be like 21-14.
  12. they are at a wine and cheese party
  13. From what I have watched, HVA just simply can't stop the Bears, too many down the field passes to athletes in space. On offense the Hawks are pretty limited as well. Best thing they can do in the second half is run the ball, pass when they can (although they can't protect the QB) and try to get some points and keep Bradley's offense off the field or it will be a running clock by the 4th quarter. Hawks need another year or two and maybe some recruits to get in contention. Good luck to them
  14. Ill bring Colby cheese and Mad Dog wine in the Beast
  15. Does anyone have the status on Joshua Keith???
  16. Maryville will be fine, just experiencing a little talent dip, no need for a coaching change.
  17. Coach Rang is doing a fine job, he is what this program needs, no, it’s not Sweetwater.
  18. OR had some guys out for sure, but I like the next man up way Coach Rang plays players, I thought some back ups contributed at Central. This was a good game to heal up some of those guys that were out or sick, OR will need them next week at Fox Den, wine and cheese and BMW s and Lexus will be rolling in, Cats got to win that one, then come back and play a really good Bearden team and finish off the season with LC and Campbell Co to win the Region and have a good run going into the playoffs.
  19. Central has some good players, I really like the running back (Johnson) but he went out in the second half against Oak Ridge. However, Powell has more good players and better lines, this one goes to Powell by 28-14.
  20. A really young and struggling Hardin Valley team probably won't be able to handle the Bears down there. They might hang in a while with their defense, but Bradley wins easily. I like where Coach Miner is taking HVA, but they need a couple more years and maybe draw off some recruits that Bearden is getting to get above 500 ball.
  21. If Clinton doesn't have Joshua Keith on Friday night, they are in trouble. He is a difference maker, both passing and running the ball as well as executing the offense, I don't know much about Lenoir City, but if Keith is out, and the backup can't move the offense, LC might win. If Keith plays, I go with the Dragons by 14.
  22. AC looked really good at Clinton last week, I think they have adjusted well to new personnel playing after losing so many good players from last season, West took a big loss against Alcoa but they have a ton of talent, and always seem to have a strong defense, AC might win this one, if they execute as well as they did against Clinton, of course West defense is a whole lot better than Clinton's defense. If West stops the run, they win. I have to go with West in a close one, 21-17
  23. Farragut has had the upper hand the last few years, better lines and skill, and Oak Ridge seemed to turn the ball over in these games to make it worse. Farragut has had an extremely tough schedule and has played close even in the losses. Oak Ridge played good and sloppy at the same time at Central, they will have to clean some things up to beat a down but not out Farragut team at Fox Den. I think the Wildcats win a close game, kicking could come into play 17-14.
  24. Playoffs would be: Our 1 vs their 4 at home, Our 2 vs their 3 at home. Our 3 vs their 2 away, Our 4 vs their 1 away. Standings Right Now: 1, Oak Ridge 2. Lenoir CIty 3. Clinton 4. Campbell County Karns 1. Walker Valley 2. McMinn County 3. East Hamilton 4. Rhea County Ooltewah Howard It will change as teams still have games with each other
