Oakland 73-13 and 70-14 Siegel 44-11 and (plays LaVergne Friday) Blackman 55-7 and 61-11 Riverdale 103-10 and 81-12 Smyrna 65-17 and 62-15 MtJuliet 93-15 It's sad that any team gets beat as bad as LaVergne has this year. You have to give it to their kids for not backing down and continuing to play hard. As you can see by the scores, its not just one school it's several of the top ten schools in the state who has beat them handily. Ultimately, you cant penalize the kids on these teams playing the same every night. They want to play and get better. Most starters on the above teams wouldnt play but a quarter if you wanted to try and prevent a lopsided score(some didnt play but two qtrs in those games), but that's not fare to those kids. They want to play every game every night and not have to sit if they dont have to. LaVergne will ultimately get better in the coming years. They have produced solid talent in the past.

Rachel Bell is a great talent and worthy of Miss Basketball. Every night she's doubled and trippled teamed. She's an awesome kid and very deserving.

Ballard is no longer with the team as was noted a few weeks ago in a hoopgurlz article. The evaluations from hoopgurlz have not been updated truly since the end of summer evaluation. They are a great indication of what type of player they are and how well they played up till summers end. It's not truly reflective of how they have performed this year which is ultimately what is being voted on. It would be extremely difficult for the hoopgurlz staff to re-evaluate each of the 22 Top 100 within a high school season.

You must have missed the part about being positive in talking about who to vote for. Sending a message to a coach on behalf of not voting for a player for such a great reward is pretty immature. That makes alot of since, i'll penalize the kid. This a vote for the player not the coach. Shacobia is very talented and a great asset to any team. She's already proved she is a Miss Basketball candidate by winning it last year. If she doesnt win it this year she will for ever be Miss Basketbal as will for all those who have won it in the past.

Congratulations to Coach John Wild on winning is 400th game as a head coach last night against Lawerence County. Coach Wild has one two state championships, one with the Moore County Boys and one with the Bradford girls. Coach Wild has coached at schools such as Moore County, Bradford, Lawerence County, Franklin County, and is in his second year as the head coach at Riverdale High School. Congrats again to Coach Wild

$$$$$$$$..........AAU keps them a job working and paying the bills. Shoe Companies pad their pockets. As long as they can promote AAU just enough to keep them eating, that's all they care about. AAU doesnt mean what it used too. Not room for both, either one or the other.

I learned late last night that effective May 1, 2009, Mr. Peanut Cummins, will resign his post as State Chair of TN AAU Girls Basketball. For those of you who know Peanut he's given his life to AAU. It's a tradgedy to see his time end like this. Ultimately, based on his statement, this was his decision. His main explanation was AAU, nationally, has become a dictatorship and the vision of this dictator is unlike the principles and rules established by AAU. We wish Mary Ann and Peanut all the best.

My vote for coach at this new establishment resides in a town known for the "Worlds Biggest Fish Fry".....lol

There are alot of changes that will have to be made with a 9 team district. One is how to handle the tournament format. I like the way some middle and east tn districts do it and award the top two teams an automatic trip to the region not playing there first game till the district semis. That puts alot more emphasis on the regular season and rewards the top two for their regular season efforts. As far as hosting the district and region, you still have to keep it somewhat centrally located. It could set up for playing at a neutral site in Jackson. Something to think about.

NSHD's mind was not very coherant in regards to that night in Ripley. A fully accurate recap of the demise of WesCharge is really still to this day a mystery. Another trial member of family (he was still in probationary period, no paperwork yet) was found hanging from the Tennessee River bridge on I-40 eastbound. The THP report is still inconclusive to this day as well. Clues continue to surface but still no definite facts and witnesses have come forth. The last account from this particular family member want-to-be came from WesCharge via cell. Those accounts were never reported. R.I.P......WesCharge and want-to-be family member........may the Ghost of Spencer be with you always....

They play very well together as as team. As you mentioned they are led by Davis who can do alot of things to hurt you. Maynard and Roberts are solid perimeter players, Biles is a solid player, doesn't look to score alot, and Dyer (6'3'') post player who has improved dramatically from last year. Outside of the starting 5 that's about it. Their bench is not deep at all. Foul trouble for them is a huge deal.

With Mashall County losing tonight it definatley opens the door for anybody to go to the boro and win. I saw Upperman vs Cannon Co tonight as well as Station Camp vs Livingston with Upperman and Livingston winning. Both teams play 5-6 players. Upperman shoots the ball extremely well but are not very quick. Their strength is that they play very well together. Livingston is very disciplined and patient and are never out of the game. Should be a good region final. Congrats to Gibson and Westview!!

Your exactly right. Someone put it in the minds of the parents. Most parents are not going to listen to their kids at that age when it comes to a big decision like that. Union City has won five (5) Gold Balls in A and AA with kids born and bread right there in UC. And also had the following of supporters that you see at DC games today. I will give credit to DC fans for that, they support their team. Alot of other 13AA teams should take not......
