  1. I happened upon this topic today, and curiosity got the best of me. I viewed the U Tube video, and it was even more blatant that I imagined. I too think Coach Fryer is one of the hardest working coaches and continually produces good teams and a successful program. Successful programs also become targets for haters. On the other hand, sometimes with success comes more pressure to be successful, and even great coaches break rules. This board, IMO, is not a press agency, but a public forum, as is U Tube, where we have the privilege of expressing our views. I do not understand how someone is a "snotty nosed slanderous high schooler" for posting this. It is very concerning and I appreciate CoachT for maturely forwarding this to TSSAA. IF it is what it appears, action should be taken. It is not now for us to judge, but for them to investigate.
  2. This whole matter is very concerning. In Rutherford Couty, the zoning allegations start at the political level which was recently evidenced with zoning allegations against a State Representative. These allegations filter down into the high schools (not JUST Riverdale) and are rumored at the middle school level in that county. I do wish that parents would take a good, long look at the ethics involved in these situations. WHY WOULD PARENTS EVER PLACE THEIR CHILDREN IN THE POSITION TO LIE ABOUT ZONE AND RESIDENCE? The lesson they seem to be teaching is that rules do not apply to them . . . they are just made for others. As a result of these infractions, if proven true, many high school and middle school players can be adversely affected, and their hard work for the season could possibly be forfeited. Wake up parents and coaches who know their players are out of zone. Play by the rules, and do what is right for the sake of the kids and the team's future. Riverdale is a great school and has a great basketball tradition. Hopefully, for the sake of the players, they will be cleared and the team will continue their success. GO WARRIORS!!!

They will need it. You know they are very unselfish this year and PRETTY smart!

I agree with the top four, but who knows about the bottom four. Could be close amongst them all. Will be close between Riverdale and Cookeville, but Riverdale will pull it out.
  5. Weren't there only so many awards that could be given from that team? From what I have read on this website, Greenbrier must be more special than any other team. They say their girls are ALL so talented and so sweet. I guess they were just supposed to have an All Greenbrier Tournament Team. Sometimes life is not fair. The girls should play for the love of the game and their teammates....NOT JUST AWARDS.
  6. I recall a few years ago a Siegel team having this caliber of players. The question is will they play team ball or will their egos get in the way of playing for the team, not themselves. They definately have the talent and a lot will be determined by how they are coached. Riverdale is young and will be inconsistent initially, but may surprise many.

Riverdale should certainly be at the top and they have the coach to take them there. You are giving Siegel way too much credit. If the coach could not do more with the team he had last year, I am not expecting much this year. Don't forget Icelyn Elie from Lebanon who has committed to MTSU. She should elevate her team this year for some great games in 7AAA.
  8. Football at Riverdale has the winningest record over other sports. These middle schools are feeding into Riverdale. Sad day for girls sports when this happened.
  9. Congrats to Holli. Where did she attend high school?
  10. Congrats to all the players that were invited, but I agree that this is obviously a fundraiser.
  11. It is really hard to believe that there were not players from Anderson County, Dobyns-Bennett or GPS on this team.
  12. If you are EVER worried about betraying a confidence, it is better not to speak!
  13. Also a great article about the Dodd Brothers. Coach Hawks seems to consistently help produce great players. Great job Oakland!
  14. Great question. Does it have something to do with tenure? Surely their pay would be comparable if not better. Inquiring minds want to know!
  15. Heard the coach left at mid-season for health reasons - any truth to that?
