  1. Well it is very close to happening, if nothing else I would be pulling for JBS over Cascade b/c it is a lot shorter drive for me to JBS than it would be to the burro, but since I cant go anyway I have to support my county neighbors JBS anyway.....
  2. Yeah Butchie it was great to see everybody atleast once this year; it has just been hard to get away b/t student teaching and working. My schedule is not going to allow for me to go to a game this coming week. There was a possibility that I would make it to the semis Thanksgiving weekend but since we are off that Thursday they made it mandatory for us to work that Friday so that is out the window. Oh well, I will have my dvr going recording all of the state championship games so I can atleast watch all of those. Hopefully we have a familar team in the 1A title game so I will have somebody to root for.....
  3. I disagree w/ that last statement; I am more impressed w/ a coach that can get alot out of a team w/ less talent. Everybody mentions SP and TC coahes b/c they obviously have the state titles but they have great athletes year in year out. I am not saying they are not good/great coaches b/c I am certain they are but I cant help to wonder if you did nothing more but switch coaches last year in the state title game between SP/Mckenzie, would the outcome be any different? You tell me. I would also like to mention Coach Adkins for JBS; he has implemented a solid program there and you do not have to be a genius to see that they dont have the best athletes in 1A.....
  4. Yeah well ok, if McEwen came in believing they would run Cascade off the field that has alot to do w/ why they didnt win. I do not believe JBS will have that attitude coming into this game. Also I am 1 of those people who does not buy into the "home field advantage" as much. I believe the better team wins 95% of the time regardless of where the game is played and even though these 2 teams are very even I dont believe home field will decide the winner. I mean how many times has JBS lost at Cascade over the years anyway. This game will be similar to the 1st game in competitiveness w/ more scoring this time. I am not sure who wins this 1 but it will be a war.....
  5. In light of Cobbs recent success I felt that it would be kinda funny to post this b/c I remembered this post in particular and I always believed that if put in th right offense/situation Cobb could not only could play QB in the SEC, but be a very effective one. I know it is still early but it is looking promising atm.....
  6. I really dont see the relevance w/ that statement; JBS/Cascade had a war the 1st time and I dont see this being any different. Also it appears JBS has started playing much better offensively in the play-offs than they did in the regular season. Good luck to both teams, should be a great game.....
  7. I actually picked WC to win this game somewhat comfortably and I have to admit I was pleasntly suprised w/ the outcome. It is kinda ridiculous to make the "WC would win 9 out of 10" statement, based on the score, they would be lucky to split 5-5. If they had lost by a score or less I could see it but not 33-6.....
  8. This was actually the game I was projecting for JBS to lose just b/c I felt like WC was 1 of the better teams in 1A on this side of the bracket this year. I hope I am wrong but I believe this is where the season ends for JBS..... WC - 34 JBS - 20
  9. I agree..... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. Maybe the other schools in that division are making ground in their recruiting..... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. I will take ER by 35, I just got a feelin.....
  12. No they do not, UT does and from the looks of it he would serve them better in football pads than the smokie outfit.....
  13. You know I thought it probably had, I just didnt have time to look through the whole thread. I was just joking around anyway, didnt mean any disrespect.....
  14. Thats easy, hasnt Alcoa played at Smith CO..... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  15. Wow, reading this thread is making me think about taking a drive from middle TN out to east TN on Aug.29 to check out the Maryville/Alcoa game 1st hand.....
  16. I am going to try my best to be there, really lookin foward to see what the county teams have in store for this upcoming season.....
  17. Wow, they are predicting a semi-final run for JBS, not bad at all. Hopefully they can pull it off.....
  18. I really was not sure if Jo Byrns would have enough left to make another run like that this year but after reading the thread it looks promising.....
  19. Word travels fast I guess. I already heard about "Number 7"s rant. Talk about classy. It must be carma. Either way, I was at the sorry excuse for a game, Mont. Central vs Harpeth. Central booted 9 balls in one inning to give harpeth the 10 spot. 10-0 going into the third. I do recall runners on first and third 1 out, score 10-0 and harpeth is still stealing. That is what we like to call classless. Showing no respect for a team that once dominated this district and in the process of rebuilding. We will not forget this kind of stuff harpeth coach. We know you are young(head coach), but that is inexcusable. You finally get up on a team and you want to punch them right where it hurts. If you didn't call that steal, and many others then you need to gain control of your players. I will say in his defense that when the game was a 13 or so run game, he held some runners at 3rd. Central will be fine, just remember last night.
  20. Yes I am a Mont. Central Fan. And I am not "in love" with anyone. I am making a case for the best team in the district, Sycamore. Central is not the top team and neither is Creekwood. I really enjoy watching every team play in this district. Central just isn't getting any offense going and thats obvious. Creekwood really proved to me that they can contend with Sycamore for the number one spot. Waverly has a good arguement as well. Monday night Sycamore pitched what is known as their number 4 starter in Joey Hannah, and thats not to discredit Joey because he is an outstanding pitcher. But Sycamores starting rotation is a little banged up right now. B.J. Walker is having to take off a couple of weeks because of a sore arm. So be lucky Harpeth that it was their number 4 on monday night because it could've been a perfect game thrown by a Sycamore arm rather than a two hitter. As for Central, we are still one of the better coached teams in the district and we shouldn't be counted out. Remember that. And as for the talk about being classless, I do not agree. I think if you ask anybody surrounding this district they would say we are coached by classy men, have classy fans. Although coaches and parents can't control everything that is said on the field, they try. I was told that Sycamore's pitcher tuesday night (Kyle Quillen) had 13 strikeouts. And if that is so, then the game was not as close as the score indicated. But thats just hear say. Head up Indians.
  21. I am a Mont. Central fan. I know that B.J. plays for Sycamore. He is the best pitcher in the district. Although the lefty from Stewart has an arguement. I just state facts about players, I dont make things up. B.J. is a beast. I actually saw those two games at Northeast Flatbill was talking about. And B.J. dominated what some people are calling the best team in Clarksville(northeast), although I do not agree with that statement. B.J. against Clarksville high did good as well. 2-4 and in the 7th he hit about a 350 ft double to right center in 30 degree weather. And as for whoever said Sycamore plays on a quote "little league field" is highly mistaken. I assume he is from Creekwood. Their poles are 320ft and dead center is 372ft. If thats little league then I guess you guys aren't too far behind. Now I was just trying to get a rise out of some CREEKWOOD people. Haven't heard from you guys in a while. Of course that was an absurd statement. You guys are a well coached and talented program year in year out. Now with the statement of "classy", I dont agree with. Now your coaches are classy individuals, but your players are little turds that talk a little too much smack. But hey, I am just a spectaor. Good luck to all district opponents because I am rootin for central.
  22. Yes his name is B.J. Walker, and he is HANDS DOWN the best player in the district. He will win 8 or 9 games this season. Hit 5 bombs, and his around .400. However about Creekwood, You guys are bottom feeders in this district. and always have been. Just shut your mouth and get beat. Go Central
  23. Good post Moto but, and I am just prejecting here, I believe you guys will be fine at RB and that could very well be the teams strength on offense. I have seen the backs that are returning and there are atleast 2 that seem to be pretty good and there could be 1 or 2 more that step up. From watching JBS the last few years the QB position has been a very important part of the offense considering the many different things that they do offensively. It is like you said though, Coach Adkins is good when it comes to adjusting the offense to fit the teams strengths and unless a QB steps up that can pass/run and manage not as well neccisarily but similarly to the QBs of the last few years, then maybe the offense should be more run oriented. Just my 2 cents.....
  24. Yeah for real, I bet most teams would.....lol
