  1. But I bet they throw the crap...oh I mean Carp back in. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  2. I would say, to get away from Flatt. If what I read on another post is true, Eagleville's principal wants Flatt for the head job. She better watch what she wishes for, because it could blow up in her face.
  3. WHAT! I only get on this site about once a month and find out all kinds of interesting things. First, I read where Flatt is thinking about getting back into coaching. And now you say that the principal's pick has been in the "background" all season. I guess by that you mean Flatt. What is this principals name? What is the AD's name? Didn't Flatt retire from Brentwood Academy? I'm sure he was knocking down the big bucks, so why would he go to Eagleville to begin with, if he really "wanted" to retire. Do they (Eagleville and Oakland) really want to open a new can of worms?
  4. I will never understand how a team (or several in this case) can make the playoffs with losing records. The TSSAA needs to knock down the playoff rounds, back to three, like in the good ole days. If it is money they want, up the price of admission a couple of bucks. Yes, I know it is already expensive, but think how much the TSSAA would save in travel expenses for these teams. They would still make a bundle.
  5. It blows my mind what parents will do to get their child in the right school. I have heard cases where the parents will drop their child off at a bus stop for a certain school, and the school only finds out because someone in the neighborhood calls and spills the beans. This doesn't just happen for athletics. I guess all football coaches, principals, and teachers should start making home visits. I hate this whole thing for the kids, parents and coaches that do the right thing.
  6. Will BA have to finish out their probationary period, that was put on hold, when they went to court?
  7. I don't know exactly when it was added, but I read it in the TSSAA handbook for the 2005/2006 school year, which was two school years ago.
  8. CBHS vs ECS Who won this game?
  9. I find this very interesting! "BA would support strict but clearly defined and regulated recruiting rules."
  10. I don't believe they were contracts, they were enrollment forms. And like Itoldyouso said, they paid a nonrefundable fee. I guess this was to hold their spot, but they didn't have to make a decision until after the school year was complete. Now, what would have happened, if said student showed up at BA and took part with the football team in spring practice, but then decided that he didn't like BA and no longer wanted to attend in the fall. Would he have been able to go to his zoned school and not be penalized?
  11. I read the entire SC case that was posted on "The Tennesseans's" website. To me it sounded pro - TSSAA. I had always thought that the letters were no big deal, but reading about it today, made me understand why the TSSAA punished BA. Question: If the SC rules in favor of the TSSAA, will BA have to serve the remainder of their penalty?
  12. I find it interesting that Flatt would even consider another coaching position. I thought he was retiring. This leads me to believe that he was forced out at BA. Doesn't that speak volumes.
  13. Good luck finding a private school that talks the talk and walks the walk. I know of a situation at a local private school where a player and his parent went in and told the coach that he was not going to play unless he got to play a certain position. Guess what, he plays in every game at "that" position while the player that played there last year sits the bench. And NO, this kid now playing the position is not better. At least in the public sector your child can get the shaft for free.
  14. Question about Kuchar. Do you see him playing basketball at some small school next year? He is also a pretty good baseball player.

    MBA

Man, with Rutledge resigning, Flatt retiring, Potter changing schools, Baylor's first year head coach Massey, Briarcrest's fairly new coach?, Father Ryan's second year coach, BGA's first year coach, Ensworth's third year in exsistence, who has the most tenured H.C. in DIIAAA for next year. DIIAAA is looking more and more like the DI colleges and the NFL carousel.
  16. We all know where B.J. Coleman, A.J. Greene, Chris Walker, etc. are going. But what about some of the other guys that have had several good years. Are any of them getting any offers or interest shown towards them? Big schools, small schools, possible walk ons, anything would be of interest to the fans.
  17. Sharder needs to call Flatt about the Centennial opening. He is a certified teacher, so he would be able to also teach. (Which I do believe is necessary in the public sector. ) Maybe then, the kids that should go to Centennial, but find ways to go to Franklin, would want to go to their zoned school. Centennial might finally be able to compete with the rest of their region. That would be interesting.
  18. Quarles is a class act. Maryville should be thankful that they have such a devoted and caring coach.
  19. You are correct, that for the most part, DIIAAA teams have more complex schemes. We are now hopeful, since Potter is at BA, that ALL DIIAAA teams will show more complex schemes. Flatt ran the same plays for so long that everyone in the stands would know what was coming next.
  20. I think it is the coaching at Maryville that is the difference maker not the players. When you look at Williamson County and see the growth that has happened in the last 10 years, it is truly unbelievable the number of successful high schools in one county. When people are moving into the middle TN area and have kids involved in sports, they always ask, where are the schools that have successful atheletic programs. A bunch of these kids end up in Williamson County.
  21. Alcoa also takes tuition students. That would be a SUPER conference with Maryville and Alcoa added. Too bad that it can never happen. I am also surprised that Coach Potter did not speak with his players and staff before excepting the BA job. Maybe BA put a Jan. 1 deadline on him.
  22. Well, since McCallie is in East TN, maybe you can get Quarles.
  23. No, I believe it will be, Chris Jordan right up the gut.
