Reporting delays and cancellations is not just the responsibility of the tournament host. If anyone has knowledge about delays, they should get on the T and report it. As many fields that Hendersonville has, I'm sure they had every warm body working them trying to get them ready. Sometimes, you just have to wait till the rain is over to assess the damage. It's not an exact science and people do the best they can because these tournaments are fundraisers and nobody wants to lose money so they will try to do everything in their power to get the games in. That usually means fighting to get the fields ready until the last minute. My advice to you is if nobody has reported any delays or cancellations when there is an obvious rain front coming, CALL someone before you go. Tennessee weather is just too unpredictable.

  3. The season is early. It's how you finish that counts. Hats off to Tullahoma. They have obviously elevated their game and answered the bell literally swinging. What's even more intriguing to me is the Tullahoma program has not had the time to get on their fields like most other teams. Their field does not get the attention like other district fields. With so little practice, I'm wondering just how much better they can really be. Tullahomas pitcher has great speed and control but with no obvious changeup that works, all batters have to do is time her. As the season progresses, she'll need to show something else to stay on top. She needs a good changeup to be very good. Coffee's pitcher did a great job and settled down after the first inning. She kept them in the game to win but Coffee could not score. Congrats to Tullahoma. They've come out on top of a long rivalry. The season is young and there is still much ball to play.
  4. That's great! Congrats to Ashia. I hear the JV team is looking good too. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  5. I saw Mt. Juliet this weekend. They looked impressive. Definitely a possible contender.
  6. The link you provided does not work. Take a look at your site and copy / paste it to your post.
  7. Remember when... /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> You have to wonder what fans will expect in the next generation.
  8. Absolutely! I think Norm nailed him with his comment. He's got some growing up to do on the field. I have a good feeling about next year. We may see a real playoff contender. There's something about the way this season went down and with the Dinger coming back that sets the table for a remarkable season ahead. By the way Monty, that Fulmer avatar is hilarious! Where did you come up with that thing...lol!
  9. Agreed. He came in with McNair at the helm of the youngest team in the NFL and McNair was through as a QB in my opinion. The next year, VY comes in with confidence and does a lot on his own. The final year, all defenses figure him out and he's shut completely down. If you go back and look at the games, you will notice a pattern of defense used against him. Most teams figured it out that if they left a DB lingering in the center and toward the right part of the field, he could read Vince's eyes and pick him apart. Vince, for now, can't read a defense. Some QB's can learn it and finally get all the checkdowns processed in milliseconds and make the right throw. He's not there yet.... if ever. I've seen flashes of it but he's got a long way to go. Athletes like Vince have to be successful using their "KNOWN" skills. Talents like him have had little coaching through their later years when they are as successful as he has been because usually they can't be coached. Now, under difficult circumstances with the speed of the game being so great, he'll have to stink it up and be broke all the way down and start over. The likelyhood of that happening will depend on how they go about it. Looking back at Norm's job at USC, he's had mostly pocket QB's that have been pocket QB's through most of their career. He's not coached anyone like Vince. The match was not good. In fact, Norm would have been much more successful if Cutler had been the choice and I wouldn't doubt Norm would feel the same way. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 'Dinger back. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  10. Just look at Gerard and what he's done for the Jags this year. He's a first year starter and his decision making is outstanding. You either have it or you don't. Some can still learn it in a few years but Vince reminds me of a scared rabbit. Decisions are usually panic ones at best except for the first drive of every single game this year. I'm convinced that the first drive is "mandated" by the coaches where he cannot stray from the script just to give him some confidence. Yet, it is usually the best he does the whole game. It makes you wonder if he is the type that has to be bottle fed till he's six years old.
  11. Give him credit, he's making good moves. I hope he continues to amaze us. I believe he has gotten the message. Let's hope he can finish what he's starting. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  12. Yes, yes, I know. I've been on Fulmer's case for sometime now because the program HAS slipped but you gotta give the guy credit. He turned what seemed like a disasterous season into a reclaimation project of all time. Considering that he wound up 10 and 4, with the four losses at a point total of a gazillion, Cutcliffe and Phil worked their magic and squeaked out a respectable season. I was wrong about their fate but am proud to be wrong. Tennessee made us proud once again especially in a year that the top teams were falling off the chart every week. Had UT won their SEC championship game, they were as eligible as anyone to contend for the national championship. Debatable, of course. Anyways, to ALL those that jumped me for stating my negative opinion, I say that's my right, but it is also your right to defend and I'm man enough to admit it. So bask in the glory of a 10-4 season and be thankful. There's always next year and by the looks of things, it should be shakier at UT than ever. OUT...... /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  13. I agree Sol, even Mark Richt is not saying anything with confidence about the game. Fulmer can possibly pull this thing out, or actually, Cutcliffe. Chaveous is another matter. I wonder what he's done to whip the defense into shape? You might actually see lighter toast... /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  14. The Tennessee Vols have their work cut out for them this week. After all, with Tennessee hitting rock bottom against Florida in the Swamp and playing Georgia at Neyland Stadium, those 108,000 home fans might can help squeeze out a win.... if they show up! /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  15. Tennessee's defense looks like they are running with their feet in buckets. I don't know what's happened but I'm going to assume that the shine wore of at UT when all the new and exciting coaches entered the SEC and stole UT's thunder by leaving UT with leftovers. This is one explanation that makes sense. The talent pool has been depleted, especially at coaching. Fulmer better have a /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  16. It's a dark day in Florida this evening. Auburn kicks Florida out of the #4 spot by beating them with a game ending field goal 20-17. What's worse? Tennessee was massacred by Florida. Tennessee better have a new game plan and buy a few players from the NFL if they hope for a chance to recoup the season. Miracle, yeah, miracle is what Tennesseee needs. Let's all get on our knees and pray for divine invtervention for UT or Fulmer, whichever is your idol. #15 Kentucky blows out Florida Atlantic 45-17. So, which teams are the bottom feeders of the SEC today and which do you propose will be at the end of the season?
  17. It's a coach's responsibility to maintain the level of excitement expected around a program. His actions are paramount. Once you win a championship, there is no other time that you can capitalize on momentum to gain the top players and respect from your peers. It is the responsibility of the coach to make that happen and to build on the supposed successes. Fulmer has not. So what can he do? Win. That's all that's left to transpose the ironic negativity of the winningest percentage coach in the nation yet not for long at this pace. Fact: Knoxville radio broadcasts of phone callers showed 95% of the callers wanted Fulmer fired. That's in his own town where the Orange nation stay faithful. I guess that there must be at least one million JERKS! according to KevB1990's assessment in Tennessee alone. That's a lot of JERKS Kev. Wonder if they know that they are all JERKS? At some point or time, these JERKS will be telling you that you aren't a true VOL fan. They'll be saying that you are a FULMER fan and that you are only interested in FULMER's career rather than what's best for the VOL NATION. My, how the tables have turned. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  18. Back to Fulmer... I believe that Fulmer, whether you agree or disagree, somehow lost respect of players and coaches across the SEC when the "Alabama Thing" happened. It seems that since that story broke, everyone has had a target on him. Missing out on the media days was an embarrassment for all. Say what you want, but the Bama game will be loaded for bear and guess who's the bear?
  19. The Cosby Kid has a good act. I've listened to him over the years and he is very entertaining whether you love Phil Fulmer or not. I'm not a hater. I'm just a realist but the Kool Aid kids can't see the green forests for the orange tinted glasses. By the way, I just heard Cosby was going to get a rally started to drive around the stadium center honking their horns, very humorous indeed. He's by far, the tops when comparing him to Gator J who is nothing but an old egotistical blow hard. I can't stand the guy and if you want to know why Gator J is so popular, it's ratings. His blithering idiocy fills the phone lines up with angry Vol fans. What better way to chum the waters for sharks than throw a gator on a line... /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Oh yeah Sol, I'll search the archives for some posts of my predictions from last year.
  20. So Stan, where are you now? You were very quick to jump on me because I had predicted this last year and reminded people after the California game. Aren't you going to stick to your principles and blast these other guys on the boards that agree with me? Are you hiding and admitting you were wrong or are you going to stand up and get on these other "Chicken Littles" as you suggest with your post? /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> And what about O'L KevB1990? Where is he now Stan? I'm just curios if you two are the same person because he has not stood up either? /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> Stop drinking the Kool Aid. It's ok to admit when things aren't great in Ktown. There are posts on this thread that are as good as any that I've ever seen in content and truth. Now, what are the tea sippers at the UT mansion going to do about it? That's the real question and I know the answer.... nothing!
  21. Dang Kev, if you can't be a positive RBS supporter, then maybe you should try another team. At least that's what you told me to do about Tennessee. So which way is it Kev?
  22. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  23. I think filming doesn't give them the edge for the Jets game, therefore, they still get the win for not being able to study it yet. Two games for Belicheck probably. It would be nice to see a respected coach get the sour grapes of wrath that he deserves. Draft picks would be out of the question. Though I agree they should lose a first round choice, I don't believe they will go that far.
