  1. I would be very interested to see the list of all of those who applied and their qualifications...
  2. Told you there would be numerous applications. Lebanon is 30 miles from Nashville which is a destination city. Tons of coaches who think they are the next Nick Saban will apply...lots of hungry young coaches who aren't looking to sap the system and double dip. If the powers to be are smart they will look at applicants from football states...not Kentucky.
  3. A former basketball coach from the Lebanon area who coached in Mississippi has been contacted by former S Panola coach Lance Pogue. This job will receive great interest simply due to the location of the school and city to Nashville.
  4. A few wanting Medley mostly his former players. You can't blame them but Medley is 60 years old and left Lebanon 20 years ago because he couldn't deal with parents. You think an old man who hasn't coached in 20 years wants back in the same mess he left 2 decades ago?
  5. Harp will no doubt blame the kids and lack of community support for his miserable failure as a coach at Lebanon. I think it was said he told the kids a couple of years ago "you don't deserve me".Truth is he is a Kentucky football coach trying to coach in Tennessee and he was totally out of his league. You were right Harpo...the kids at LHS deserve better than you.
  6. Exactly...and that is what makes Lebanon a laughingstock.
  7. Other than Medley's years at Lebanon there hasn't been much success there and they only had 1 state quarter final during that time. Still it was a successful period. Their magic formula consisted of making average players good and good players excellent because there was a dedicated, knowledgeable staff who had a passion for the game...and it rubbed off on the players and community.
  8. Been run out of MS and LA and you clowns actually hired this guy? I guess everything I have heard about East Tennesseans is true after all.
  9. Nice post but you are missing the problem...which is Harp is a 62 year old guy who just doesn't connect to young kids. He was a great coach in KY but I dare say there may be only a handful of schools that even care about football...Danville was one of them. Tennessee is a better football state and has better coaches and football athletes. Harp has also dug a hole trying to play the political game which has destroyed coaches with lesser credentials than he has. Time for Lebanon to part company and get a young coach that is more concerned with winning and less with padding his retirement account.
  10. This will be great for JC. Was Jimmy Brown's teammate and the legendary Kermit Forkum's grandson. They should have hired him years ago.
  11. What kind of job is Simmons doing at USJ? I knew the guy in Florida.
  12. If Smith has a long term contract they will have to give him a buyout unless they bring criminal charges against him. As for the "Deliverance" thing that is bizarre beyond belief but considering the part of the country we are dealing with who knows. Yes there are allegations concerning a former coach who invited players to his home and even slept in the bed with them on away tournaments...once again I said allegations. As for Naydley, Tank and the assistant they are finished...possible prison terms and their teaching credentials banned for life. Plus all the negative publicity and multi million dollar lawsuits. What bugs me about Tank is he had the nerve to bring race into it...come on Tank if you are being flushed down the career toilet at least have some class.
  13. Naydley, Montgomery and Williams will be ruined forever over this but that will be small compensation for what this affected young man will suffer. In many ways this is just as bad as the Penn State deal. Had those 3 been more responsible this would never have happened.
  14. This much is certain...Montgomery will never coach again or work in education...Neydley will never work in education again...Rick Smith will somehow keep his skirts nice and pressed and will throw both these guys under the legal bus. Smith is a notorious fraud but he will survive...trust me.
  15. I never met a coach that didn't think they would be a great fit for any school...in their opinion of course.
  16. Obviously 2 former head coaches who were fired and now want a 2nd chance. Now let's look at KY hs coaches who were at Lebanon. Jim Meyer in the late 60's or early 70's was 2-18 and was run out on a rail...maybe as much for rumored brutality and running off every black athlete in the school than his coaching. Fred Gibson was 0-10 in the late 70's. He was run out due to incompetence more than anything else. Ironically both went back to KY and won state titles. Meyer even became an assistant for the Dallas Cowboys and is mentioned in Hollywood Henderson's book as one crazy sucker.
  17. Bashing TP but yet my thread is garbage for questioning Harp's abilities to win at Lebanon...what a hypocrite.
  18. Fact is there are only about 10 really good programs in the entire state of KY that compete for and win titles...Harp's teams at Danville was one of those 10 and they were very solid. His record there speaks for itself...however there are 10 teams within a 50 mile radius of Nashville in 6A alone that are solid and capable of winning titles. The good folks in Lebanon obviously thought they were going to get instant success simply because he won football titles in what everyone in the civilized world knows is a basketball crazy state. Just hasn't happened but that has nothing to do with his legacy...just means things are different in TN.
  19. That is absolutely the most ridiculous thing I have ever read on this site...you must be an assistant coach worried about his job. Not only is this an asinine post but it demeans the kids who play in this program...totally uncalled for and if Harp feels this way he needs to get away from here...quickly.
  20. Oh I will guarantee it as well. The guy is collecting KY retirement and draining Wilson Co Schools dry while not giving the school and program it's money's worth. He will hang on as long as the 400 or so home fans allow him to. That is why I am personally against this double dipping thing...you don't get a coach's best effort and it denies a deserving/hungry young coach their chance.
  21. He is 62 years old and can't relate to young kids anymore. They are losing kids in the program. What on earth is Medley's "job" anyhow? I never said Harp doesn't deserve respect...he has certainly earned it as a coach...he just doesn't need to be coaching at Lebanon. I disagree with your statement that Lebanon will never be any good...that is a defeatist attitude and is totally wrong but you know that may be a big part of the problem.
  22. It should be Friday night. They will end 3-7 in his 3rd year. The program isn't any better. Kids need a good young coach. Not saying Harp wasn't a legend in KY and rightly deserves respect but this isn't KY football...it is TN football. We have him on the payroll and Medley on the payroll (doing who knows what)...time to clean house and start fresh...our kids deserve it.
  23. Coffee Co will never win a state championship in football. Not being mean. Just will never ever happen.
  24. Of course its a forfeit. If it wasn't teams would only "play" teams they thought they could beat...the favorites would be snubbed...ridiculous to even think otherwise.
