Are you saying Lowe should be considered as one of the top kids because he won D2 three times. With that thought he should be our number 1 guy. I don't think anybody on the list has won the nationals 3 times or even come close.

We have a few good barn-burners also. Germantown vs Houston and Collierville vs Cordova. All great matches.

Can't anyone answer the questions about Coach Holmes. He has been such a good coach in Memphis. Who will take over the Houston program? I am also wondering if they will still be hosting the Black Horse Inv next year.

What is the world is going on over at Houston. Coach Bray, good luck we will miss you. Is Coach Delgado going back to his family in Texas. Where in the world is Coach Holmes going. Is he retiring? Looks like a mass evacuation from Houston.

Oh! And I forgot to add NHSCA.

If there is no card required for this tournament, it will save me between $30-$40 dollars a wrestler. I am glad someone decided to put a tournament on for the wrestlers and not require each kid to buy a AAU or USA card. We only wrestle 2 tournaments a spring and it seemed to me to be a waste of good money to buy those cards and pay entry fees. I for one am very thankful to this group for figuring out a way to put a tournament on for the kids and not hose every wrestler for their money. This is getting to be a sport for the financial elite. Not everyone can afford these outrageous fees. THANK YOU NCW!

Perfessor you make some interesting points. What is your background? And what school are your from? Intersting comments. However, I like 14 weights. If you want to keep younger kids involved then 103 is the answer. They can get in the line-up and shine. Not very likely in the upper weights.

3. We have, in the opinion of most coaches and refs, the best hospitality room in the state and maybe the southeast. Rigger I would guess most good coaches wouldn't know how good a hospitality room is because they are coaching their boys all tournament long. Maybe we will come up from Memphis one day to see!

This really doesn't surprise me. The Purple Wave has been coming on for the last few years. They looked great last weekend down here at the Black Horse. Great job by Coach Lewis.

I like your spirit of winning. But come on. Did you come up with the score of 24 - 18 on one of the Madden Wrestling playstations. You have a good young team, and don't fool yourself or the people on this board by saying you could be that close with Ryan. Our team can only dream of coming within 30 points of the Ryan team. But I guess I could say, well if we had all of our wrestlers tonight we would have lost to Ryan 30-28. I feel better now! Come on guys. I like to dream also, but then, I wake up.

I have a question. I don't know all the rules, yet. I am trying to learn. I thought that if a team was penalized 2 times in a match the coach was thrown out. I know I am probably wrong so can someone clarify this for me.

Since so many guys are hurt, do you think we can create a wrestling video game much like Madden Football so we can actually put both teams at their full strength out on the mat to compete in a playstation like game. I guess this is the only way to get the best from each team.

Don't be so hard on the current SBA staff. They did take on a young team that has improved over the last 5 years. I think their coach is a Pirranni. My understanding is that he is from a wrestling family here in Memphis. I bet he really didn't say that to the newspaper. Since he is from around here, he wouldn't have made that comment. I will give him the benefit. I believe they put 2 or 3 in the finals of the Black Horse this past weekend. A much improved team.

Was this the battle of JV's. Why dodge each other? Is this a common thing in Nashville? I haven't seen any of this from Memphis or Chattanooga. What gives?

It probably has a lot to do with the current coaching staff at SBA. I guess they don't believe there was much of a team when they took over, and they don't consider the earlier wrestlers relevant. Too bad for the past and history of SBA. They were the pioneers.

Heck, Deedee Williams almost placed in the senior nationals last year and didn't even prepare for the tournament. We have great wrestlers in this state. I guess if I was from the other side of the mountain, I could tell all you Tennessee folks just how much better our wrestling is. Just like Indiana. I guess their grass is greener than ours. I thought the grass in Memphis was much greener than Arkansas!

My son has been to a camp in Memphis where Philip Simpson taught. He and I were impressed by his teaching skills. I wish my son could have been there to learn how to lift weights also. This is something our whole teams needs.

I must admit I was wrong. For some reason I didn't understand that your son had not certified before losing all that weight. I hope his surgery goes well and he can return healthy. Good luck this year. I guess the turkey I ate fogged my eyes.

Dear Pattonboyday, I am sorry if you feel badly about me. I am sure, with all your knowledge of the sport you are aware of losing weight in the TSSAA system now. YOU CAN ONLY LOSE 1.5% OF YOUR WEIGHT PER WEEK, and it doesn't matter if you are sick or not. It may come as a shock to you to konw this. I only quoted you from the earlier post. You said, " 10 days ago he weighed 198lbs...he has had one practice (yesterday) and weighed 189lbs tonight and at one time was down to 185lb". I am not here to brow beat anyone, but I couldn't sit by why you accuse me of being wrong when I was right. Have a good Thanksgiving and hope you sons feels better.
