  1. Not only is it "unexceptable", it is also unacceptable. Too many lacrosse balls to the noggin?
  2. In a game against Brentwood, Tony went 2-2 (triple and a dinger) off UT signee Hillis and tripled and walked against Vandy commit Robbie Ray. If he isn't an SEC hitter, I guess those guys aren't SEC pitchers.
  3. The young man from Centennial is Ray-mond Jackson. Friday, he won the 100 at 10.69 and 200 at 21.88 .
  4. I guess J-Lo would be a Post-Madonna?
  5. Who pitched for Centennial? Obviously not their top pitcher since according to an earlier post, he was dismissed from the team. Isn't dismissal the ultimate form of discipline?
  6. Indy beat SC 2-1. Centennial beat Tate 7-5 to win the championship.
  7. In a ten team tourney in Pensacola, Centennial plays the host team in today's championship game while Indy plays Station Camp for seventh place.
  8. Per today's daily announcement on the IHS website, Ravenwood did win yesterday's game 5-2.
  9. Not sure of the final score but Centennial did win over FCS.
  10. Guess it's a good thing Overton wasn't in that tournament.......
  11. In front of numerous pro scouts, CHS jumped to a 6-0 lead and held on for the win. Kemp tripled and homered off Hillis and tripled in what proved to be the winning run off Ray.
  12. The stats are even more impressive when you consider Kelly had little, if any, help this year. Opposing teams knew he was basically a one man show and he still averaged 28+.
  13. Since Centennial has key conference games on Monday and Wednesday, they will likely throw some jv kid out there tomorrow.
  14. I thought he was the head trainer 'cause every time his son went down on the football field, he was the first one to run out and check on him.
  15. Oh, the passion of high school sports. Guess that justifies a grandfather calling a teenager an idiot and a wimp.....
  16. For all his accomplishments on the basketball court, I will most remember Drew for his 70 yard catch and run for a td in the Franklin game. The stiff arm at mid-field that dropped a safety was a thing of beauty and for a guy his size to out run everyone else to the end zone was truly amazing.
  17. Sounds like Kiffin should have spent some time in Henry County.
  18. So I guess the conference COACHES who made these selections don't know what they're doing?
  19. Lots of holes to fill including o-line, linebackers and other than Kemp, playmakers. Freshmen team showed promise by beating both Franklin and Brentwood but that translates into a ton of inexperience for 2009.
  20. Better than Kelly? Was there election fraud when the coaches voted Kelly conference MVP? No, there are reasons Morris is at Lambuth and Kelly will be playing for Miami, OH, a team that just took UCLA to the wire in LA.
  21. If school population is insignificant, why does the TSSAA bother with classifications?
  22. Rock, In 2003, the year before Indy rezoning, CHS had 34 freshmen football players. That dwindled to 15 by the time those guys were seniors. Several of the 34 freshmen (Darnell, Hazzard, DiLorreto) were the foundation for Indy's first successful season. Enrollment has not recovered and politics and a lack of residential development (no Westhavens, etc) within the zone will likely prevent any relevant future increases. The Hispanic population gives Centennial the highest minority percentage in the county and few within that group participate in football or other sports. This years' team opened with 20 freshmen (not sure how many finished) and 17 seniors were honored against Columbia, showing things haven't recovered since 2003. As an indication as to a lack of depth, 3 freshmen started against Gallatin, 2 against Brentwood. These aren't excuses, just facts to support that everyone associated with the team should be congratulated for the great yeat that was 2008.
  23. Hey gymnast, why the hate for the Cougars? One of 'em take a whiz on your tights? This team was picked sixth in an eigth team conference but managed to make the TSSAA Sweet 16. Quite an accomplishment and congrats to those guys for a solid year.
  24. If the Brentwood O repeats last night's performance, FHS by 3-4 tds.
  25. Nice post wtih good information. CHS enrollment hasn't recovered since the school board whiffed on zoning when Indy opened. They will probably bring 60 kids Friday night, including freshmen, while BHS will dress 80-100 sophs-seniors.
