its not easy schduling games for any of the teams in this district especially when you have to schdule 5 non district games, riverdale has had a very good knoxville farragut on their schdule the past 2 years who are also a 6a school which comes into play when determining who makes the playoffs riverdale will never play alcoa because it would be riverdale vs rankin neither rankin nor riverdale wants that! maybe if rankin leaves alcoa "which you can read up on that in the 2a-4a boards" then it might happen you know shag their is one head coach left in this district that is still a head coach and good friends with rankin he also lived rite down the road from him but he never beat rankin "0-11" it seems like if anybody would want a game with alcoa it would be him so the real question is why doesnt that head coach schdule alcoa?

being from rutherford county i would say itavious mathers blackman, jeramiah bryson smyrna, gaston miller riverdale, and i saw brian marshall from oltewah in the 2006 semi finals game at smyrna and he was pretty awesome

smyrna and lavergne high schools have pretty much doubled in size since being built in 88 and have went through atleast 2 expansions in the past 15 years and while adding 2 new high schools in rutherford county "blackman and seigal" and building their football stadiums, along with riverdale and oakland getting their own football stadiums in that time frame also "they both played at mtsu" and so you go to the newer stadiums in rutherford county and yeah they are nice but they are newer stadiums built for 2000's now, sounds like you have some great ideas for the qb club, they meet the 1st monday of every month in the cafeteria at 6:30 "dont be late" it will only cost you $25 to join, sounds like they could sure use your help and enthusiasm!

the poster you are refering to is a loyal riverdale fan i have read his posts since 05 he is the harry carey of riverdale football and his knowledge and insight of the warriors on here has been very appreciated to me over the years and getting back to your question is the problems with coach a to me and i think alot of riverdale fans is that wing t offense, he came into riverdale in 06 with a team that could have won state but didnt because of all that sideways running, its boring and if you can stop it than riverdale cannot beat you with anything else "smyrna quaterfinals 06, wilson central quaterfinals 07, maryville semi finals 09 the wing t fumble game" alot of people on here do not believe you can win a state championship at the highest level of high school football running the wing t, and something else is their were alot of former riverdale coachs that were on the rankin staff who ended up across town at oakland "which is riverdales biggest rival" winnig a state championship two years later in 08

just want to say thanks again to the qb club for doing this, i couldnt tell you how many times i heard the whitehaven fans say something about how many people we brought to the game on the way in and out of the stadium, me and my family had a wonderful time from the ride down to memphis, to dinner, to the game, to the police escort waiting on us at the rutherford county line, just a great thanksgiving weekend!

shows what you know, smyrna has won championships back to back, in 06 and 07 lol and i remember smyrna playing maryville in the playoffs in 95 and did maryville win...... i dont think so

Yes, they can now that their best atheletes are NOT going to Smyrna. Remember the Sonny and Rod duo that propelled Smyrna to back to back state championships? what? nobody has mentioned the oc at smyrna? just think of such a high power offense for the stars, run left, run right, and than if by chance those first two plays didnt work "doubt that would happen" but than run up the middle

i hear ya! i no watchn the brentwood game they stacked the box and dared smyrna 2 throw and its run and punt over and over and nothin consistant on offense, is it me or does smyrnas offense now look like blackmans of a few years ago? run mimms left, run mimms right, run mimms up middle and punt!

first off congrats to coach williams and staff even though this is a down year for riverdale its still riverdale, their were times in the 4th quater in that game i was thinking how smyrna had been in that situation b4 like last year after that miracle 3rd quater goin into the 4th quater, also some of the best fieldgoals ive seen by the smyrna kicker yoder just awesome, along with hicks smashing the ball, if smyrna could get bryson goin when the playoffs start running along with hicks i really BELIEVE they might surprise some people who counted them out earlier in the season "including myself" but smyrna cant keep getting the unsportsman like penaltys it really changed field position in the 4th quater also that was the smallest crowd i had ever seen at riverdale and it to be senior night and fighting 4 ur playoff lives i was expecting a playoff like atmosphere!!! where was #2 dakota for smyrna? whats the deal with the qb situation? all of last year i heard alot about the freshman qb freeman everybody called him little sonny, i no hes gotten into games and he started against lavergne but i watch in warmups and he looks like a qb, he gets in the game makes a mistake and he gets yanked, ive watched alot of qbs at smyrna play early and u live with the growing pains they get the experience and it pays off weather it was sonny, wolke or larry d, oh well its probably to late in the season now!

i just have to ask the question great coaching? i wanted to take a few days to think about this let me say nothing was corrected since the last game, smyrna got dominated at the line of scrimmage AGAIN #13 still tipping off where he is throwing the ball AGAIN, when bryson runs the ball smyrnas offensive line stands their and watches him run and do not block AGAIN, and their should have been more personal fouls called against smyrna they got away with several cheap shots, the whole team seems to be lost like they dont no where they are suppose to be, something else that bugged me their was a penalty against the brentwood offense in the second half nobody on smyrna could make a call 4th and short or 3rd and long so the jeoperdy song starts playin "oh yeah and smyrna was the home team" their does not seem to be any kind of leadership from anybody on the team which all goes back to coaching, now how about this question will smyrna win a game this year? this is the sloppiest smyrna football team that i have ever watched its just disappointing to watch from 2 time defending state champs to this, yes smyrna lost alot of talent this past year along with coaches but their ought to be enough talent on this team to win ball games, well i have gotten enough off of my chest, well for the first time since 92 i will miss a smyrna game to go watch two 1a schools play "ive heard that they have got some good coaches"

ive heard about a qb transfering, but ive also heard alot of good things about freeman, the qb that was on the freshmen team last year

does anybody no where the on the ball mag is in the smyrna or murfreesboro area?, i was picking them up at krogers when i went krogeren but i havent seen them lately, i no the fooball issue usually comes out about this time of year, cant wait!!!!
