  1. 60-15 rout by Christian Brothers over St. Benedict for the the Division 2 West Regional wrestling title. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2012/jan/19/purple-waves-wrestlers-rout-sba-for-west/
  2. I think your bet is well placed. I SBA has some good wrestlers, my favorite being Lamer, but the Brothers have a strong group.

  4. What happened to Jesse Jones at 182? I heard he dropped out with an injury?
  5. Be sure to click the icon under select.
  6. I don't see any results???? The drop down menu for reports (upper right) says either Brackets not ready to print" or "No results entered."

  8. You should try one of the NAGA events. It is submission wrestling and Jujitsu. I saw several high school wrestlers at the one that was held in Nashville last fall. http://nagafighter.com/ In Memphis Urban Kickboxing host the MAGC grappling tournament usually about twice per year. EGO Extreme Grappling Open http://extremegrapplingopen.com/ has tournaments in Nashville and throughout the middle US. Living Defense Martial Arts host BJJ/grappling tournaments in Little Rock Ark.
  9. NAGA just held a submission wrestling/BJJ meet in Nashville. I saw a number of HS wrestlers competing. It as almost as safe as wrestling for HS athletes. MMA is different. Getting punched in the face while trying to set up a wrestling move changes the equation drastically. Also, some of the injuries, cuts, and broken bones would be unacceptable to parents. I personally don't think MMA is a sport for minors. There's plenty of time after they turn 18 if they are interested.
  10. I like the new weight classes in upper weight range. I think it better reflects boys actual weight and makes for more even competition.
  11. About 20 to 25 teams I remember a few of them. Blackman TN Brother Martin LA CBHS MBA Grissom AL Hoover AL Germantown Cordova Brentwood Briarcrest Arlington Hixon ELM
  12. I believe Barrett Walthall (CBHS) wrestled at 182 at the Germantown Pre-Season placing second.
  13. I heard White Station in Memphis cancelled its program. Several White Station wrestlers competed at NAGA in Nashville two weeks ago which I doubt they would do if they were wrestling.
  14. There were many good matches this weekend. It thought Cordova looked good. You did a good job in the finals lots of slick moves against a quick strong opponent. You going to Black Horse?
